"Booked a lesson as a birthday gift while on vacation, we were stood up by the instructor. Waited at the designated meeting place for 40 minutes and couldn’t get ahold of anyone. We called the owner, Chris, multiple times, and never received a call back or even an apology. After investigating the website, I found a number that someone actually picked up at. The receptionist was very kind and polite. We have been issued a refund. I’m not sure what happened but a simple call to let us know our instructor couldn’t make it would’ve made all the difference for our experience. It sucks being so excited for something and then being stood up after paying so much and leaving a tip in advance. Would not recommend due to lack of professionalism and courtesy. We are tourists so we had no idea who to book with, only chose this company due to high reviews and was one of the first listings, so we had no idea what other school to choose from since we were literally left high and dry. Luckily while we were waiting in the parking lot searching for the instructor that never showed, we happened to meet the owner of Laguna Ethos, Justin. He set us up for a lesson the next day at a beautiful beach in Laguna."

"We booked a 4-person surf lesson with San Clemente Surf School and loved it! Jaid was super knowledgeable and really helped us dial in our pop-up technique before hitting the waves. And he helped my 4 year old catch some waves and play while my husband and I headed farther out with Jake. Jake explained the break and how to catch a wave, how to paddle out safely, and he kept us in the action. We caught some good waves with Jake and had a great time learning. Now, my 6 year old caught the most waves of any of us, complete with her princess moves. Her instructor, Faith, knew the sweet spot for helping her catch nice, long rides over and over again. My daughter was stoked! Thanks San Clemente Surf School for an awesome surf session!"
