Reviews of Thomas Jefferson School of Law
"One of the worst experiences I can ever go through. Misinformed after I withdrew from their summer 2023 ESP JD program (per invitational request to join). Was doing everything according to the timelines I was provided-none that made sense- as different due dates were communicated. Terrible deans, especially Michelle Allison-Slaughter who withdrew my Fall 2023 enrollment after I notified her about my positive COVID-19 result. In keeping with public health orders, I was told my attendance for week 1 orientation is important- more important than sparing other people’s health. I wouldn’t even consider reapplying after crossing disorganized professors & suggested to send another application next week for Spring 2024 start term. Campus area is so unsafe after 6 pm. If you’re invested in a premium quality JD education, then I wouldn’t recommend this school."
"DO NOT APPLY HERE!! Horrible Administration. The law school offered acceptance, took seat deposit, then revoked admission weeks later without consulting me, and made up lies to excuse their conduct. The administration refused to correct the problem. The school appears to be in financial trouble, lost their ABA accreditation, and very expensive for what it offers...low bar passage rates. They were forced to move from their new building to a rented office building space elsewhere. The entering classes have dropped down to about 25% of the number of previous years. Don’t waste your effort, time, or money here!"
"Amazing law school. Professors and staff are dedicated and friendly. I moved here to San Diego from Memphis, TN in 1998, specifically because I wanted to attend TJSL."
"Graduated from TJSL back in 1994 and had a great experience with top notch professors! Thank you for a great education and the preparation to become a zealous advocate and trial lawyer."
"DO NOT rent from Entrada (student housing provided by TJSL) I am a former resident and I am putting the management and their team on blast for the trespassing and illegalities that occurred. Here are my receipts: First incident: In January, I was expecting a package to arrive at my door. When I came home, I noticed other packages left in front of my neighbors' apartment doors but not in front of mine. When I opened the door, I was shocked and terrified to find the package inside my apartment near the door on the floor. I have a dog and I believe that whoever opened her door, did not expect to see the dog. I called security right away, as well as the manager. I also called the police. The manager informed us the the lead maintenance person admitted to entering the apartment without authorization to place the package in my apartment. When the police came, we told them what had happened and made a police report. The officer stated that what he had did was illegal and that we should be sure to let the management know of the incident. The next day, I purchased a video recording/motion detector and installed it in the apartment. The camera was located on the top of the cabinets. I had the app and I was able to see live video of the apartment at any given time. The device came with a memory chip. Second Incident: When I went home for summer break, we kept the system up and running. It was working great. On June 22nd, I got a notice on our phone about Motion Detection at 5:32 A.M. At 5:38 A.M., six minutes later, we received a notice stating the device was disconnected. I contacted the electric company to determine if there was a power outage, but they told us that there was not one in the area. I also contacted ATT to see if there was an interruption and ATT determined that the internet service in my apartment had no disruptions of any kind. I also contacted the tech support for the security camera and again there was nothing on their end that disrupted live streaming. So we contacted the manager and he went to the apartment to investigate. He found no forced entry and he also made a panoramic video showing us that nothing was taken. However, we couldn't understand why the camera would not come back on line. Third Incident: On Sunday, July 23rd, my family and I went to my apartment to move my stuff out. We came to find that the camera was removed from the apartment leaving only the wires. That is why the camera wouldn't reboot and remained disconnected. It was taken along with the memory card. There was no forced entry. We quickly notified security as well as the manager. We strongly believe it was someone there with a pass key that took the camera. Management Response: We have investigated the matter, and although we were not able to determine who removed the camera from the premises, we were able to narrow down the number of times personnel accessed unit. We learned that notice was taped to the door of the unit on June 28th letting her know that the Entrada maintenance staff would be accessing the unit on June 30th for a pre-move-out inspection. This inspection did occur on the 30th as noticed. Additionally, the property manager entered the unit on June 22. The Manager said this was upon request from her to take video of the interior of the unit to make sure everything was alright. Finally, there was a third access during this time period, the exact date and time is undetermined, but we can tell that it was accessed by the security officer on duty. We were unable to speak directly to this officer because he has already been terminated from the Entrada assignment. However, since this is the only entry unaccounted for, we are of the strong belief that this is the entry that resulted in the missing camera. We have spoken to the head of the security firm that provides us with the guards, and have the direct authority to terminate them, but I have since been informed that lead maintenance guy's last day at the Entrada will be August 5."
