Music Tree

"I initially posted a review about my experience with Music Tree and removed it because I'm not one that likes leaving negative reviews however after today i felt the need to review again. My child was taking the afro hip hop class taught by Ms Lindsay on Tuesday afternoons. Not once was there any hip hop or afro music or moves being taught. They play 15 second snippets of pop songs and do crab crawls. I wouldn't recommend Music tree for someone that is serious about dance or music, it's more for recreation and socializing with other kids. Also i felt a negative energy by Ms Lindsay towards non white students. She often coddled the white students and went out of her way to make sure they were having a positive experience. I noticed this on several occasions not only towards my child but other non whites. I overheard one of the other parents complaining about the school requiring the students to have "straight hair" for a recital and in return the owner states that she has a black boyfriend and will have mixed kids one day so she understands. One of those "oh my best friend is black" kind of answers. I won't subject my child to this kind of energy so needless to say we won't be returning.."

"As a dance choreographer & mom, I 100% approve. They are skilled but flexible and absolutely cater teachings to each age range. They worked with us to find the right class for my little toddler who loves a little bit of everything. Classes are the right size for COVID safety & learning. I love that they have a prep preschool which is perfect duration for my 2 year old. I will be purchasing another month for my niece too. Thank you for creating this special place!"

"My son goes to this music school, he has learned so much! Teachers are great, kind and patient! It's more than just learning piano, the students get to a goal to work toward an actual performance in front of family other students and peers. I highly recommend this school!"

"I take private guitar lessons with Mr. Juan every other week and I also attend the group classes held once a week. I can't believe I can actually read music now! I used to look at the notation and thought it looked like a bunch of beautiful jargon - symbols and markings that were too foreign to understand. Now I can look at it, make sense of it, and know that with some practice, I can translate those symbols into sound with the guitar - its amazing. I highly recommend this place. The group classes in particular are a lot of fun and they're only $10!"
