The Cal Poly Welcome Center, located at 1 Grand Avenue in San Luis Obispo, California, is the perfect place to start your journey of exploring our university campus. Whether you prefer in-person or virtual tours, we offer a variety of options to help you get to know Cal Poly inside and out.

Our student-led walking tours showcase our campus, housing options, and academic colleges on select days. Advance registration is required as space is limited. If you prefer to explore at your own pace, our self-guided tour is a great option for prospective students, supporters, and the general public.

Visit our Welcome Center in Building 172H within the yakʔitʸutʸu residential community on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to get your questions answered and pick up printed copies of our self-guided tour.

Group visits are available for high school and community college groups with 15 or more guests, with advanced reservations required. Elementary and middle school groups can enjoy a self-guided tour with materials provided at the Welcome Center.

To make your visit as enjoyable as possible, we recommend checking out our detailed directions, parking information, and campus map. Be prepared for fluctuating temperatures in San Luis Obispo by bringing water, a light jacket, a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes.
