"I don't see why some Laurus College students are complaining that the College is a fraud which I don't think it's the case because I feel that Laurus College is sort of an alternative to AHC Allen Hancock College even though it's not a junior nor community college it offers some classes & courses on graphic design, computer animation, web design, business, business associate, medical billing & coding, criminal justice, healthcare, and a lot more. I'm a former Hancock College student who has decided to get into graphics design & video audio production and get probably get a bachelor's degree or a associates degree at Laurus College, which will help me get into journalism which is what I really want to do but I'm also interested in graphics design like I said so that's why I'm applying for classes at Laurus College."
"Just started this year, going for an occupational assoc. In digital art/computer animation. Online, and I love it!. The syllabus is structured well, the instructors are patient and knowledgeable, tons of resources available, and hel with anything at all is just a phone call or a click away. And they sent me a brand new Dell precision laptop. They feel like family already. I'm so glad Laurus is the college I chose, Thank you Laurus College!"
"They created a fake job position "YMI" had me apply and sign off for a fake website so they can say they fulfilled their contract for job placement after you graduate. Its for a website that doesn't exsist or is under construction so after your 3rd paycheck the website goes on hiatus. "LOOK IT UP!" YMI is created by Laurus College associates. I graduated from Laurus in 2020 during the pandemic. It was unbelievably hard to find a job at the time. They gave up and created a fake job placement. My expectation when I went into this college was to do medical billing and coding at home to be with my son who was in and out of the hospital. What they don't tell you is in order to work as a medical coder from home you need to pay an additional $500+ to take a course (not provided by Laurus) and get certified. Additional $100+ to take the exam. So what did I learn from this experience? Don't trust this school. Do your thourough research. I thought they genuinely cared about the success of their students, it's all about taking your money and fulfilling their contract. Its pretty humiliating to have a medical coding degree and can't find a job because you are not actually certified! They will tell you that you can be a medical receptionist instead. Definetly a $30,000 student loan lessoned learned, I hope sharing my review & honest experience will help those not make the same mistake I did."
"Not sure how these private schools are even legal. They are nothing but scams. They'll tell you they can get you a certificate for what ever career you want. But they're not credited schools so their fake certificates aren't even valid in California nor other states for work. After getting loans you finish their program and they say they'll help you find a job but they won't trust me. They seem all nice to reel you in but beware of this scam. You'll definitely be in debt without a job or a valid certificate at the end."
"Great experience, I attended the campus a few times as well as online. The teachers were great, and the flexibility was one of the deciding factors for me, I work full time and have to commute during the week, the evening classes helped to accommodate my schedule."
