Reviews of Statewide Funding
"If you're the "read the first sentence for my determination" person then take this as a YES, to use Statewide Funding as your start to a new home (for us it was a manufactured/mobile home). YES, they are real. YES, they are professional. And YES, they answer the phone (it may take two or three, but they answer). They also provide other services but my review is directly tied to purchasing a home. For the long review, you come in thinking you know it all, but you quickly learn how much different mobile home lending is than traditional/conventional loans. This is the most confusing/frustrating part of the transaction. However, it is important to understand Statewide's role in this process with you. They aren't the ones who are preparing your loan docs, but rather providing you with a pre-approval so you can obtain your new home. While it may seem like they are the one's approving your loan, it really falls behind the scenes with the private investors and with whom you're paired with (we had Santiago Financial). Whoever you have on your team, you can be assured that your emails, texts, and calls will be answered and addressed. They do a great job of keeping you up to date and educating you on things you have no idea about. Take the time to ask questions. Ask the same question over and over again for clarity. We had Damu and Andrea on our team. Although it may seem like they aren't urgently working on your application, they do put forth the utmost effort on your behalf to check all the boxes to get this done. Again, this lending is so much more different than traditional lending. So, when you get that negative feel of, "they aren't even doing anything for me," I recommend stepping back and understanding that you don't know what is happening behind the scenes. And I say this because there were times throughout the process where Damu was providing updates, even after hours-personally check in-because I thought things weren't progressing. It's a good awakening that many of us entitled borrowers will need at least once in our lifetime. Another experience here of them working above and beyond for us is Andrea following up outside of work normal operating hours to get a fast start to the day. The communication is prompt, and Andrea does her job, just like Damu, to check all the boxes. I say all of this to say that you will need to be checked because you don't know all of the moving parts. Also, just know that there are so many repetitive requests, but it's apart of the loan process from the private investors. Just do it. Relax. They're with you through every step of the way."
"Not professional services, avoid phone calls, shady financial practices and the office numbers don't work."
"This company is a waste of time and money. Having them along on my first-time home buying experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Understandably, people make mistakes, that's the reason why they have teams of people analyzing every step of the way so it's a smooth process for clients, however it seemed with them nobody was paying attention so errors were never caught in time. Our little story: We had a tight budget for our house so we expressed our concerns to them to check and make sure we would end up with something we could afford. We geared up for the greatest house hunt that ever existed... that took months, but we finally found a house that could suit us well. Again we checked with them to be sure we would be within budget. After thinking about it a bit we decided to continue with the process (perform the inspections, appraisals, and all that fun stuff) which for some reason it was plagued with setbacks. Finally, the day of signing the final papers with the title company came and we were excited about closing the deal. Little that I know the next day after finalizing the process and having a celebration with a champagne bottle, the title company came to me explaining that they needed more money for the closing, more papers needed to be signed and an explanation from the lender was due. Some taxes weren't calculated properly so our monthly payments will be different. This completely blew our budget. I’m not an expert about taxes and I know they fluctuate but common sense tells me that this could have been calculated a little higher so we are already with the mindset of what we would pay from beginning of the process? We ended up not closing in time consequently losing our earnest money."
"If I could give them less than one star I would. Completely unprofessional. This company is filled with people who have no clue what they are doing. Was supposed to close escrow last week, still waiting!! Details are not important, bottom line they can't get their act together to actually close a deal."
"Great Company. I know many of the loan officers personally as well as the owner. They hire quality staff and are Mortgage Brokers, Like me, so they can shop around for you for the best rate. Also they lend in many states!"
