Reviews of San Jose Job Corps Center
"As a former student 2019 I can safely say still they have not improved at all with their staff. Very incompetent, if you’re reaching out to gather records or documents good luck getting ahold of anybody. This center does bring good opportunities as long as you genuinely keep to yourself and just focus on getting your certifications. Don’t expect the advisors to treat you fairly, they will undermine you. The food isn’t the best. They have bed bug infestations that sent me to the hospital & denied it still even with documents given to me by the doctor. They said they would send my remaining boxes of personal belongings to my address which they never did resulting in me losing many precious items and jewelry (yes I did contact them for 2 years about this with no call back.) although the program is free. Ask yourself what you have to put up with and why it’s free. If you want to get a cert & put up with being treated so poorly then I’d say go for it but if you’re mentally not prepared find a better center or a different program"
"Like others before me have said don't go here unless you wanna feel like a prisoner. The rules and regulations here are ridiculous along with much of the staff and the students. Drama and fights are quite common here so prepare for petty fights among staff and students alike. In addition, many of the trades they claim to have in many of job corps ads, they simply don't have since many people would not come here knowing otherwise. To put it simply avoid this place like the plague and for the ones who have the opprutunity to do literally anything else, do so"
"Hey. I'm a student at Job Corps, and I gotta say the opportunity is great! Money isn't much, but it is enough and fair for just being a student. There is a lot of drama that goes on and is just a bother when trying to connect with like-minded people, but the people that are there to improve and the staff and teachers that care about the progression of the students is why I'm giving this 5 stars. They have given me a wonderful experience so far, just not the students."
"I Attended and completed my course for Medical Administration M.s Karrie is a great teacher I hope she is still teaching there. It’s very controversial this school. But for what they provide at no cost is beyond exceptional. Only bad thing is your only allowed off campus if you do volunteer work."
"Francisco brought out the folks from the Job Corps to support two events we hosted. This nice group of young adults volunteered as judges, AV tech, mentors, referees at our robotics events. They were an asset to our events. The young men and women arrived on time, stayed engaged with personal, handled tasks efficiently and remained professional. It seemed that it was a good experience for both groups as they had an opportunity to use their robotics skills and training to see how they might impact the community in positive ways. I also had a chance to visit the ample campus. It was clean, easy parking, secure and modern. On my tour we visited the very large multipurpose room-it was very nice, conference room and some offices. The staff was courteous and focused. We would recommend companies give opportunities to this group when the occasion arises."
