"If you ever plan to take the ACT or SAT here, don't. Assuming most of the test supervisors are teachers from this school, they show up extremely late. They come after the call time that students should be here to check in. Also, one of the student did not bring their ID and the proctor decides to delay the test so this individual can get her ID from her home. Also, the testing environment wasn't that great. Talking in the hallways can be heard through the wooden door. This can be a distraction to some people's concentration. Additionally, Bathrooms are unsanitary. There weren't any soap, paper towels, or seat covers. In the 60 building, there were a couple of toilets flushing for a whole minute and splashing water everywhere. This disgusting and a waste of water."
"I was placed on Administration Leave while I was an attendance clerk for 30 or more years with the District. I caught the Principal tampering with attendance and the District placed me on Admin Leave. After the Investigation I was sent to Skyline as an Attendance Clerk to work with 1,864 students attendance all by myself, It was hard. The Administrators, Nancy Bloom and Vinnie Blye offered no assistance for me. The harassment continued, they wanted to place me on an Job Improvement Performance Plan . Parents ask yourself, why teachers are leaving Skyline, I know parents, because I worked there, and I observed Skyline for 4 years.Teachers had no Administrators to assist them. Mrs. Bloom stays in her office to keep from helping teachers whey they are calling for help in the classroom. I would not send my grandkids to Skyline, too many fights. Teacher have told me that she called the front office to get help in her classroom because a student spit in her face and nothing was done about it. So please investigate before sending your student/s to Skyline. The attendance isn't right, sometime parents would get a rebot call to tell them that their kids miss 2nd and 4th periods, come to find out that the student was absent all day. To parent, the recordings are inaccurate. The student was absent all day. There is a lot of things that need to be fix. Mrs. Bloom told another staff member that she did not want to be there. I found out later that she was transferred to Skyline, not by choice, from her old school to Skyline. Skyline need Administrators with a backbone. Someone who really want to be there and work very closely with our kids. Not someone who forces teachers to give kids grades that was not earned or delete their attendance so that the school would look good to parents on the internet . Find out about schools. Yes, Skyline does have a beautiful view in the hills, but I rather see students with a better view in education. Parents, before enrolling your child into schools, go on internet to see about the school's academic, attendance not just Google a school, Parent you are Google, you do the search on your own. Thanks Ms. Diew Ms Diew"
"The teachers here are very passionate and only want the best for their students. This school offers three academies : Green Energy, Computer, and Education. Along with those, Skyline also offers pathways. As a student of the Green Academy, I can truly say that I have enjoyed every single part of being a Green Academy student at Skyline High School. I can also say that Skyline has the best performing arts program in OUSD. Dawn James is simply an amazing teacher and always puts on an amazing show for the winter and spring recital. In addition, Skyline also offers many extra curricular activities for students such as volleyball, basketball, ROTC, golf, lacrosse, swim, art, creative writing, and many more. Overall, the teachers and staff provide a safe and welcoming environment for learning and only wish for your child to excel and reach their full potentials."
"When I pulled up in the parking lot I did not seem surprised. But after going inside and exploring place I would recommend sending your children there. I am going to be a freshmen starting August 27th and I can't wait to go. This is the High school to be at in Oakland."
