"Graduated 2014, it was an overall great experience. I made a lot of good, loyal friends. Teachers taught well for the most part. School Lunch was not all that great and students would cut in line all the time. Never finished watching Disney Pixar's "Finding Nemo" in my 3 years during rainy days. Bathroom stalls next to Boy's Locker Room. Regular classes (not honors) were full of ghetto students (75% of the class) who never did any of the classwork or homework. 22 Fillmore line is very noisy after all the students get on after school, not a very comfortable bus ride. A few fights."
"I'm a student myself so you can't argue with me about whether I am correct or wrong. But i just want to show you what kind of school this is. This school is a really good school I am not going to lie. The teachers are very nice, the children are above just decent and the work load is good, but why did i give this school such a terrible grade you may ask? ALEKS. Mrs. Fong decided to waste hundreds of thousands of dollars to give us a new assignment called ALEKS. I did the math 985,000 dollars were wasted just to give us students busy work. WE HAVE TEXTBOOKS FROM TEN YEARS AGO WHY DO WE GET EXTRA THINGS WHEN WE CURRENTLY DON'T HAVE THE NECESSITIES!!!!! Our textbooks are ten years old, they have extreme vulgar images and texts written in them, they are falling apart and half of the things that are in the textbooks are either outdated, wrong, or basic (already known) lessons/knowledge. And guess what all of the things we do on the assignments we just forget anyway. Also ,this is basic knowledge, students such as ourselves learn A LOT better when we are being taught by someone in front of us. This also shows how lazy Mrs.Fong and the teachers are, because they are paying others to do their job for them. Other than that the rest of the school is pretty good except for the once in a life time fight. Kids fight all the time, but a real fight breaks out once in a life time again it's very rare."
"i like marina its okay and there might be a lot of drama in the yard because i have had that expirence a lot i still go here and i like it all you people should send your kids here its a really fun school well think about it"
"i went to marina and it was awweeeesssoommmee!!! its a great experience for how life is in the real world wen u become an adult. only person i didnt like was ms. mankus the art teacher. first u think shes an awesome person then she becomes a real female dog jus cuz of little mistakes u make anywhere the kids there are great friends ..the best ive made in any school i ever went to.even though its mostly asian kids there are ur black white mexican filipino etc. kids. u shuld put ur kid in this skool...oh also even though people describe as drab and the yard is concrete. there is a track field basketball courts and a volleyball court its still a good scholl it gives u a real sf or any junior high experience. GREAT SCHOOL"
"I graduated from Marina about 6 years ago and I have to say that the school was Ok. I can't judge the teachers as a whole because it wouldn't do them justice but the teachers that I had were amazing teachers. But some of the teachers were not qualified to teach at all. The after school programs that Marina had to offer at the time were amazing, since then they added a skateboarding program and have renovated the exterior of the school. The interior is drab and from what I remember the bathrooms looked like they hadn't been remodeled since the 60's, this goes for the locker rooms. As a Latina I felt a bit excluded because the majority of the students there are of Asian descent. The students are a bit "ghetto" therefore making the school seem "ghetto" for the area it's located in. Don't catch the 22 after Marina lets out."
