Reviews of Mare Island Technology Academy
"back at it again with the moldy buildings and more bad decisions to come. Again, they are really asking for a lawsuit. But the thing is, Vallejo has a "diverse" community (and an abysmal school district) especially when it comes to income where most of the students' parents make under the 100k threshold and both parents work, they do not have the TIME AND MONEY to complain and threaten the school about the school's bad decisions. Also, does the admin/board care about your stundent's problems? Unfortunately, most of the time, no. You need to have time and money when it comes to enrolling your child to this school as the airheads of the board of directors and the administration are clowning too hard gambling away their money on makig MIT one of the worst schools in the United States history. Due to these events, I do not recommend enrolling your child to this school. Mention: GEA union, i agree with your statement that the board members must resigh immediately after making 3 superintendents reign after a span of 3 years (1 superwntenedent resigns every year). Still, could be worse?"
"My grandson is thriving! He is in the 10th grade, he has attended MIT since the 6th grade. He is excelling, learning, positively interacting with others, and lives on the honor roll. I look forward to him becoming a productive young adult, graduating, college, and moving forward with his life and making a difference in this world...."
"This school may have a high standards for there education and teach kids what they need. But what’s most important they can’t take care of it which is the safety of the kids. We had reported an incident that was going to happen to a child in the school this morning and they ignore it, and later that day the child was assault by another teenager. Ms.Power was aware of the situation but didn’t do anything about it but say “ to stay away”, how is this type of answer going to change the situation. This is why school in the Vallejo district can’t ever get better because they don’t give the parent or kids the support they need. What if something major would of happen that’s when they would pay attention to it? We called to tell her to be aware of what was going to happen and they didn’t care."
"This school is the best school I have ever worked at. The student services are very well managed. The administrative staff holds high standards for personal growth. The students are some of the brightest students I have ever taught"
"There isn't any drug dealers on campus, but I've heard some of my friends say that they bring knives because of people that come into our school from other schools to beat someone up. The uniform says Dickies only, but there are many alternatives. As long as clothes stays in the guidelines, its fine to wear. The teachers a really fun, even if some are strict or rude, you can still look over that. There is a huge field, and we have many old portable classrooms, but we make the most of it. Teachers decorate their classes and try to connect our lives with the subject, which keeps us interested. Fridays we have some sort of event, such as free dress, college wear, MIT wear, things like that. On certain days, there is even henna during lunch! There are many clubs that MIT offers. We have classes and various different EDRTI's that kids are interested in. When we graduate, we get to go to many fun places, such as Great America in eighth grade, and Washington DC & Disney Land for 12th graders. I'd regret it if I didn't go to MIT."
