"School of Rock ROCKS and has been such a gift to our family. It is a TRUE GEM of a music school and a welcoming, inclusive community. I can’t imagine a better “home away from home” for my son who loves guitar. I also take lessons and joined one of the adult bands (so much fun). From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted by the friendliest owner and staff…and then your lesson or band rehearsal begins…there is MAGIC happening during these sessions…creativity, collaboration, and connection…The teachers are incredibly dedicated and passionate and know how to bring out the best in you. It doesn’t hurt that they also happen to be phenomenal musicians themselves with incredible backgrounds. If you have a chance to see the kids’ bands perform, you will be completely blown away by the energy, collaboration, joy and talent you see on stage at venues such as Sweetwater in Mill Valley, Hopmonk Tavern in Novato. It’s truly remarkable. Keep on rocking!!!"

"School of Rock San Rafael has been amazing for our son. The skills he’s learned on the guitar are excellent, and watching him perform is always a highlight, but more importantly he has developed confidence and pride in his ability to play. All the instructors he’s worked with have been able to push him to grow while also being supportive. We have been sending him for just over a year now with no intentions to stop. It’s his happy place, and we are so grateful for the community he’s a part of. Can’t recommend it enough!"

"FIVE STARS!!!! This place has to be the BEST music school in Marin! This is a community where all are accepted at any skill level and celebrated at every turn. The owner and teachers are AMAZING! The level of experience and expertise these music teachers have is off the charts. My son (age 14 - drums) has been at School of Rock for a little over a year. He has seen incredible growth as a musician which has sky rocketed his overall confidence and he has access to resources he would not have had otherwise. He is learning how to play his instrument, be a good bandmate (teamwork) and is happy! He LOVES School of Rock and looks forward to EVERY lesson and band rehearsal. He comes home having learned something new every week, it's incredible. The adult band program is sooooo good too! I signed up after seeing what my son was doing and I LOVE it! Rehearsal with my band is what I look forward to every week - it's my favorite day of the week with some of my favorite people (all new friends). "We love School of Rock San Rafael! We saw them play for their one year anniversary back in Summer 2023 and immediately signed our kids up. The teachers, staff, other kids, atmosphere and attitude are all amazing. They also teach adults and have performances for all of the bands, including kids bands and adult bands, every few months (my daughter LOVES being part of such cool performances). If you're looking for a place for your kids or yourself to learn music, I'd recommend SoR wholeheartedly!"

"My child has loved every single moment at School of Rock San Rafael ever since I signed him up for a week of summer camp on a whim. He didn't know anyone there and after the first day he got in the car and I asked him, "So what did you think?" and he replied "I'll do that all day every day!" He was beaming. Ever since, he loves each practice, getting into the Band, every teacher (he has subbed through most everyone and loves them all) - plus, I can now see he's really learning to play the drums! WOWOW! I especially love the weekly notes sent after each practice from his teacher so I can receive the notes/feedback for him to practice! Thank you, thank you - we are still riding the high from yesterday's Season 5 performance show at Hopmonk. From all the organized and clear communication and prep leading up (I loved and appreciated every last detail from call times and order, tips on how to 'look the part' etc), to the smooth running day at Hopmonk, to all the details making it feel so very official (talent lanyard, lights/mics/intros/naming the band members) not to mention the incredible talent pouring off the stage - it was truly fantastic! We had so much fun and I had to hold back tears watching these young performers shine! I know this had to be so much very hard work and long days and we so appreciate it! I have 2 children who are full of activities of all kinds and I've seen all kinds of organizations and I've been so very pleased with School of Rock. So thank you, so very much!
