Reviews of International Technological University (ITU)
"If you run a background check, the school is surprisingly good. Interesting faculty (not everyone for sure, but generically they do have large experience at SV companies), and a brilliant educational strategy. Just like any other business, school's primary purpose is to have profit. Ok, agree, the staff is sometimes biased because it sticks hard to the processes. However, I don't blame them when the school is always under pressure for being attached to the visa program. IMHO, having the chance to obtain a degree while having "your hands dirty" with an internship is difficult. But it boosts your performance and helps you get more prepared to the real world."
"Good university as of now, i havent faced a single issue like most of the people commented. May be i am lucky, i don't know. Medium sized campus but is packed with all kinds of amenities. The courses offered are good and more practical oriented than theoretical."
"Unless you have no other choices, do NOT apply for this university! They are minimally staffed and least managed. They NEVER deliver anything on time. Last semester they postponed the admission deadline twice, 15 days each time. They didn't issue I-20s on time. They couldn't deal with the CPT authorizations on time. And they withdrew CPT authorizations without any notifications! For 'not on time', I mean for real - They don't care what the heck. They can hold the issuance of your I-20 for months. They'll even ask you to go to school without an I-20, only to make you pay the tuition. If you go and talk to their staff, you'll find all they ask for is money- hey pay the fees otherwise I will not offer you any services. The funny thing is, once you've paid it, you get an email with a deadline that they will deliver the service - and god knows when that's gonna happen. So now, I am waiting for the refund of the tuition - which was supposed to delivered 2 weeks ago."
"First strategy to squeeze our money: They encourage you to add courses and drop them as soon as the sem break gets approved. Funny thing is they deduct money for dropping courses. Second: Cannot talk to anybody in the office. Just have one phone number. God only knows extensions of admissions, registrar and ISO offices. Hard to get in touch with anyone if we face any trouble. Third: Have to apply CPT pay for it every trimester(3months) . This is funny because, It gets approved for one trimester and gets rejected for another trimester for the same masters degree, job, job responsibilities and offer letter. They break their own rules. Fourth: Academic advisor don’t really advise anything. This is the time to register for Spring 2015 but, most of them are still on break for another three weeks. Fifth: Greediness or quench for money never ends. Fee keeps increasing but, building never gets upgraded. Its smaller than New York Sports Club. Sixth: Very partial professors. Never gives you grade even if you do your homework on time and attend all the classes actively. Because, I did homework for my friend and myself. He got A+ and I got B+. What else, I need to do. Not sure? Guy who cannot speak english gets A+ and I get B-. ROFL. Language course is mandatory to graduate even if you have good TOEFL/IELTS scores. Seventh: Have too many rules and which they forget to follow sometimes. Eighth: Money refund process takes 3 months of its wire transfer and check/cash or credit refund take 3-5 weeks. But, why? Student Records and my portal clearly shows how much money my account has. Check website for yourself. Finally: My friend has gone out of status because they delayed in accepting a sevis transfer. His life got screwed. He had to get admission to some other university and travel all the way to Jamaica for F1 visa stamping again. It is very expensive for students to travel between states. He had to cross the country and return! Overall, my experience with ITU was horrible. Many got their H1B approved after getting RFE for being student of this university. Many got their visa rejected too. It’s huge rip off and risky."
"While the programs & courses offered by ITU are good. Their student administrators, their ticketing system, response to tickets is dead slow, very unresponsive people. If you have any issue or need their help, you would need run their behind for many days & months and yet there is a less chance that they will respond. I opened a ticket and it took 2 months 13 days to resolve and during that period, how many ever times you call, they will just say in progress and drop the call. This is the only place in the U.S where service is worst."
