"Truly horrible experience. On enrollment of my 2 year old they did not specify that she wouldn't be able to do full time hours until she was 3. I would have been fine with the information, but as I said they didn't make me aware and took it upon themselves to decide their own schedule without concern for my work hours. They then repeatedly gave me a schedule at the beginning of the month with several days that they didn't have any coverage for her, they would try to find teachers to fill in but would never update the schedule I had and thought it appropriate to let me know the day before or the day of. I also picked up a screaming inconsolable child which they had (2 adult "teachers") had cornered and were trying to force her to put on shoes. My daughter has a seizure disorder, is autistic, and was in a new place that she was still becoming acclimated to. I was so angry they had treated her like that, especially as one teacher was her head case worker, that I pulled her out of the facility and began care else where. Now nearly one month later I come to find out that WEAP is still charging my insurance making it so the new care facility is unable to. Horrific communication, they lost my emergency contact paper work, they sent home items they asked me to bring in (cup, bowl, spoon and fork) and then asked why I hadn't brought things in. There are much better and more well equipped facilities in the area."
"So thankful for the help in getting my son diagnosed. I was super nervous cause I always felt I was “crazy” or no one would believe me but they were so friendly and helpful! So thankful for the staff here!"
"I love, love, love the staff. Their patience and care is unprecedented. Their techniques WORK. My child was non-verbal, combative, anti-social, and struggled with anxiety and depression-like symptoms until the wonderful people at WEAP loved her into a bright future and a beautiful, chatty, kind personality. I wish she could continue here forever, as the differences are pronounced when she’s been without WEAP’s techniques for a while."
"Pleased at the beginning when services started, everything was great. But my son went through too many techs for my comfort and his but you’ll find that anywhere honestly. Communication was hard to maintain at times. we found another company and we gave Weap a month notice that we were switching and so they could do the paperwork to submit him out of their services so that by the time we start the new company my son wouldn’t be off schedule. A month comes by and they didn’t do it so now we have to wait possibly another month without any services for my son, and if you’re a parent with routine driven child, you know this is a nightmare."
"I have never written a review about a company in my life but at this point I feel it is my duty as a pediatrician and mother of a child with autism to worn other families about this provider. Our experience with WEAP started about 6 months prior to our move from Texas to Wisconsin. Knowing that creating a team takes time we started the whole process of establishing ABA services for our daughter months in advance. We filled out the intake paperwork 6 months prior and came for an eval 4 months prior our scheduled move. About month and a half prior to starting the therapy we were asked to pay a $4,500 retainer so that WEAP would start hiring therapists and create a team, which we paid. During the months leading up to our move we were promised over and over that they would be able to provide the hours our daughter needed. When we finally moved we were told that they could only provide full hours if we drove to their center in De Pere, a 1hour drive from where we live despite being guaranteed services in Marinette prior to our move. Wanting what is best for our daughter we did what we were told. As we would come to realize the reality was that they could only provide a third of the hours were were promised and at the same time WEAP began making unauthorized charges to our bank account for the full 30 hours, despite our daughter having Katie Beckett insurance. This was going on for 3 weeks before we decided to leave and switch to another provider. When we contacted other ABA providers in the area they were all honest about their ability to provide services, one said they will be able to give her full hours in a month and they called us after one month, other provider said they would not be able to provide the full 30 hours until this fall, and the third provider said that they would only need two weeks and sure enough everything was ready to go in two weeks. In summary we spent so much on commutes, we paid a retainer, which 3 months later we are still not able to get back and probably never will, unauthorized charges to our account were made for services not provided and my daughter missed more than a month of therapy. Even that little therapy that she received with WEAP was so below standard they should be ashamed of themselves, the poor tech didn’t know what she was supposed to do and was mainly babysitting while they tried to convince us that she is fully trained. I have been in touch with other families dealing with similar issues with this provider. No other family should have to go through what we did, this company will waist your child’s precious time and will lie to you that they will provide the needed hours just so you don’t leave. Please be very cautious about giving them your bank account information. I have experience with multiple ABA providers both professionally and personally for my own child and have never experienced anything like this. I would definitely not recommend or refer my patients to this provider. It’s a shame how this current management and employees and ruining the WEAP legacy."
