"I wanted to share my feedback from this experience. I actually ran an estate planning law firm for two years. I have experience working directly with multiple attorneys so I understand they are very direct. I spent a couple hours determining who I wanted to utilize for a consultation. Linda’s firm was about $200 higher than two other firms. I understand it’s based off their hourly rate. Their time is valuable so I understand and I thought my matter was a little trickier so I wanted someone who was worth it. I was more torn on the fact they offered a 30-minute consultation or the 60-minute consultation. I wanted to ensure I was going to get the help I needed but not be cheap. My parents were helping me pay the fee so they swayed me to the 30- minutes. I highly recommend if you move forward with Linda, do not book the 30- minute consultation. Pay the small difference for the 60-minute consultation. Then maybe it would result in a 4 star situation. A portion of the call was spent on how useless a 30-minute chunk of time is. If she doesn’t think it’s as effective, I’m not sure someone would offer the service. Just offer the 60- minutes. Do both sides the favor. Next, the entire booking situation was terrible. The 3rd party booking vendor and I had a miscommunication on which day I wanted. He assured me it would be updated in the system. I read her packet and sent the petition I had existing over. I prepped for her call and set aside a meeting space as it was my office day, and I never received a call. My fear was I forfeited the money I had already paid, but I called the law firm to see why I never received a call. I got the 3rd party booking vendor again. They were able to offer a new appt time. Except now I was getting confirmations for both appointment times. I was getting help in hopes of gaining some peace from the conversation, but the entire experience was unnerving. Final stage- the actual appointment, I walked away confused more than I was entering the conversation. I had prepped over a week ago for this call as that was my original appointment. Work has been crazy so I ran out of time to prep again prior to the call. Definitely an error on my end. Absolutely make sure you feel fresh and prepped for your call. Without this, it will result in time and funds wasted. She definitely drives the conversation, if anything a bit too hard. I was trying to follow her flow but one minute she was saying I was being too wordy and then the next she was saying I was being too vague. It was a bit unjarring and resulted me in being less articulate. Since she wouldn’t let me explain my side, I don’t think she truly grasped the scope of my call. The entire conversation was full of reactive sounds and commentary, though she assured me it was a safe space. It felt full of judgment. It was a 27 minute smear campaign towards everything I was doing wrong verses finding a solution and making sure my son was getting the help he needed. His father was manipulating him which was causing him to get physically aggressive with me and lie. Yes, the conversation ended 3 minutes short of the half hour with zero results. The funny thing is I explained I work 1.5 jobs, I’m applying for grad school, I volunteer for school PTA, my son is a 4 sport athlete and was on the honor roll before this whole mess happened. Sorry for the overshare but I hope my personal experience can help in anyone’s situation. I feel like as community the only way to become knowledgeable is by sharing experiences."
