Reviews of Log House Landing
"Another poster stated the falls in my pictures are at the St. Croix Boom Site. This is incorrect. These falls are accessible from the landing and are about 1/4 mile up the small creek that feeds into the river. These are referred to as Copas Falls and are not the falls at the boom site, which I have also seen and photographed."
"Great access to the st croix. Launch is steep but easy."
"This is a great place to launch a canoe, but as far as a boat, you need a truck for sure... The access is on a VERY steep, dirt to incline, and can be difficult to get up... Otherwise this is a beautiful place to launch from"
"Simple unimproved landing for canoes, kayaks, small boats. Exactly what it should be on a wild and scenic river. Get there early AM and you’ll see otter, trumpeter swans, osprey, bald eagles, enormous flocks of waterfowl (in Fall). A hidden gem a stone’s throw from Twin Cities."
"This is a small boat/canoe-kayak launch. There is a sharp~90 degree turn at the bottom of the approach. Never meant to be used by larger boats. There used to be boulders at the entry to the water that have been removed and the turn area radius was decreased to make launchings easier. Put in downstream at William O'Brien state park if you need a more improved launch. This will require a park entry fee but you have a straight approach to the ramp, better parking, and a protected harbor where you do not need to deal with the river current"
