"Only a small handful of those employed here are helpful. This court is indifferent to the rule of law. Judges support only capital. Low income residents of Lake County are assumed to be criminal. There are NO tenant rights in Lake County. Supervisors are criminal thugs. This building is where our constitution goes to die. Perhaps the the major reason why Lake County is a difficult place to live. Update Nov 11th '23: Second suicide this year of a friend. His rights were trampled upon by the courts and his landlady. His dignity was shredded. His property was looted. Specifically referring to the "landed gentry", Lake County is the most ignorant, hateful and uncivilized place I have ever encountered."
"It wasn't that crowded at all. There were like maybe 10 people. The judge was taking his slow, sweet time. All the lawyers acted really slow. Would you please hurry up, judge? I have a class at 1 pm in Clearlake, and I can't miss this class."
"I have come to the court house for jury duty, to research properties I was interested in buying, and to get a copy of my deed. Every time I was treated kindly and with respect by all staff that I encountered. The guards at the entry are friendly and efficient. Don't bring your coffee in a glass container, however! No glass allowed in the courthouse :)"
"Took picture of illegal fuming up to Code Enforcement. I even had pictures of the garbage & recycling that was dumped. I had pictures of the shipping label on 2 Amazon boxes. The name & address were clearly visible. Office assistant had me fill out a report..listened to all I had to say & said it would be turned over to the officer that dealt with this illegal dumping. Stated they they would get somebody out to check it out & gdt it cleaned up. What happened to the $1000 fine for littering? I've been to Code Enforcement before & nothing was done. Then other times it took about 12 months but they did come out & access the situation. They hired a sub contractor who came out & towed the old dumped cars & cleaned up the garbage. Never know if Code Enforcement will address a complaint or not. I've made reports about squatters growing pot & dumping garbage & nothing was ever done."
"My daughter got married at the lakeport court house and it was great. Everybody was very nice .It was a very relaxed atmosphere and the judge couldn't have been nicer."
