Reviews of 61st Street KinderCare
"Ms Addie the director is wonderful, my child 2yrs old attended here for about 2 months before we found a daycare closer. i noticed in just a short time how she was coming home telling me about what she leaned with ms haley. the facility is clean and the teachers are great with uploading photos of the kids day what they did. i have to thank them as well for how quickly they took on my child. i came in to view and they took us the following week. thank you Ms Addie!"
"I had 3 children in this daycare but it dropped down to 1 when they told me they were dropping the bussing program to my older 2 boys school. I kept my daughter in there because I loved her teachers and they treated her like she was one of their own children. Now I find out a week before school starts that they are no longer taking drop in kids (ones who only come on school off days). They could have told me the beginning of summer so my 4 yr old daughter didn’t have to adjust to big kid school AND a new daycare for only random off days. The director’s solution was to send her to the champions program which she had no information on and come to find out the closest one is about a 20 minute drive from my house then another 30 minutes to get to work. How is that a situation? The respect and common curtesy is lacking at this facility. I was highly recommending this place until the new director started and it all went downhill. Please if you have kids there remove them and find a better facility!! (Gave 2 stars because some of the teachers are absolutely amazing but highly underpaid!)"
"We started daycare when my child was 20 months old after having in home care before. The transition was very smooth because the staff at this center is so caring, thoughtful, communicative. We've been very happy with our experience at this center!"
"I supported this location until the discriminatory comments and actions started. My son attended since he was 23 months and ended after his 3rd birthday. Soon as I disclosed his disability after discovering it (did not have to), because I sought help, to his teachers and center, his behavior suddenly became intense and aggressive. Before all this, I would drop off to not being spoken to, being looked down upon, and falsified fevers after being cleared from Dr (I was called from work for a pink eye he didn’t have), falsified fevers, etc. To save them, I’ll keep to myself that their own employee told ME my son was singled out but another child of lighter complexion did the same behaviors. I would love to go to the news about this. I was way too nice. Do better and take equity PD days."
"When I called about bringing my children there I spoke with Janella and she was so great! She was incredibly helpful, nice, and very informative. She made the conversation so easy and made me feel so comfortable. She answered every question I had with confidence which put my mind at ease about this daycare. Since there aren't any in person tours allowed right now she gave me options on how to see the center. She really made a difficult situation very easy going and comfortable. If everyone in that center is as great as her I will have no problem bringing my kiddos there."
