"We have been a Stillwater Boat Club members for more than a decade. It's a turnkey way to explore the river. They also offer day pontoon rentals if you are interested in day trips rather than full season memberships. Spring can't get here soon enough!"
"Really disappointing customer service. Steve specifically had an unnecessarily rude and condescending tone towards our boat full of adult ladies, one who was an experienced boat driver. He took advantage of us when there was a boat malfunction alarm which docked us 1 hour into our rental. Then he claimed it was our fault, charging us with the damage deposit. We enjoyed a pontoon rental for 1 hour for $250. Not worth it. Bring your money elsewhere to avoid problems and excess fees."
"We had family in town and decided to rent a pontoon for the morning. We arrived right at 9. They were still cleaning the boats so we didn't get out on the water till shortly before 920 between them moving a boat and our party boarding. They spend about 5mins going over the boat with you before letting you out. Overall the rental experience was 5 stars. We rented a 25' and it wasn't in the best shape but it also didn't leave us stranded. I'd say it was 3 stars at best based on other pontoons I've rented around the city but the staff was really great to work with. Between changing our reservation and offering some good suggestions on where to go before we set off the overall interactions were great. During the pre inspection the guy was really upfront when we lifted the outboard out of the water. They're pretty lenient with prop damage, I could tell as the prop and skeg weren't in the best shape. I appreciated that they were upfront about it as I've been accused of causing damage at other rental outfits by kids manning the dock trying to make a few extra dollars off you."
"You are taking your chances renting here. The starter went out on our boat and we were stranded on the river, losing an hour and 45 minutes of our 8 hour rental, messed up our plans for the day and missed our lunch. The manager said "it's not my fault the starter went out, they only have so many starts in them." What? Two options: Be proactive and replace the starters after every 100 starts, or let it break down on your clients while they are on the river. They choose option 2 and didn't care about our experience. I was offered $50 off my next boat rental (after being told by the staff on duty that we would be refunded part of our rental). Yeah, no thanks, we choose not to come back. The boat was nice, the staff in the building were friendly, but there are many other boat rentals on the St Croix, DO NOT RENT HERE."
"We had a great experience renting a pontoon from them. The staff was relaxed, helpful and fun. They had everything ready for us when we got there and were waiting for us when we got back. Everything was nice and efficient. Will rent again!"
