"The five stars are specifically for Dr Kulstad in endocrinology. He is the first doctor I’ve seen within SSM Health that seemed to be curious, did a thorough exam without looking anxious or in a hurry to see his next patient, and wanted to make sure he addressed my concerns during my appointment with him. Definitely a trustworthy doc. Also, the WiFi here sucks."
"My mom went to urgent care today, on Christmas Eve, because she was very sick and had a flare from an autoimmune disease. The doctor, Joe Peterson, was very rude to her and lectured her about taking care of herself. He scolded her for not taking medication (when she does) and being as sick as she was. This was absolutely not professional and even after she said she’s going through several testings for her autoimmune disease, he did not care. She came home crying because all she wanted was some help to feel better on a day she’s spending with family. This is absolutely ridiculous and disgusting. Behavior like this from a doctor is not acceptable."
"Went to Urgent care. Was told it will be an hour and a half wait. Waited for about an hour and probably counted 8-9 patients that came in after me get taken in before me! Some within 15 minutes. This is ridiculous and not fair at all! SSM HEALTH NEEDS TO WORK BETTER WITH THIS!"
"Wish I could give 0 stars for the eye department. It took me a year to get them to bill my VSP insurance instead of my Medical insurance. I had to give up. Very disappointing. I would never recommend this place."
"If you use this facility, be extremely diligent with bills and balances that you receive. Check everything, thoroughly and often. I went in for a very quick and simple urgent care visit. My experience with reception and the NP that cared for me was very positive. For me the real pain started when the bill arrived. I provided all of my insurance information in full when I first got to the facility and everything seemed in order. Until 3 months later when I received a bill for nearly $1,500; the urgent care copay with my insurance is $75. So I call my insurance, they say they did not receive a claim for that service. At that point I call SSM billing and double confirm that they have the correct information and am reassured that they will submit the claim to insurance. Several weeks go by and I receive a "revised" balance from SSM for the exact same amount. Again I call my insurance company and they offer to contact SSM billing directly and they did; they also provided me with an email update of the individual that they spoke to and another assurance from that person that a claim was being submitted. Several more weeks go by and I still did not have a revised bill. I speak again with my insurance provider and they confirm yet again that they have not received a claim for the service. At that point it came to light that for the second time the claim was never submitted. So again, I call SSM and ask them to confirm absolutely that they have the correct information; they did. After I told them that my insurance company was escalating the issue on their end, they involved a supervisor who said they were going to move it forward. It was at that point that I received a call from my insurance provider stating that none of the individuals involved in the process thus far had submitted a claim, despite the fact that they had all the information they needed the day I first walked into the facility. Had I not been frequently checking and calling both insurance and SSM billing, my bill would have no doubt gone to collections. As we all know paying important bills and its impact on your credit score is a massive indicator of your financial well-being. It has been both stressful and extremely frustrating to be helpless to that, all because multiple individuals had no interest in doing their due diligence. At the time of this posting the issue still has not been resolved, nearly six months later, for a simple 1 hour urgent care visit."
