Reviews of UnityPoint Health - Meriter - Middleton Clinic
"I recently transitioned from UW to Meriter Hospital, and while UnityPoint Health hospital has its merits, I would like to highlight several concerns: 1-Lab test costs: Lab tests at Meriter seem to be more expensive compared to UW. For example, routine lab tests like Thyroid, which were fully covered at UW, are only partially covered at Meriter under the exact same insurance. 2-Lab test scheduling inconvenience: Unlike UW, where you can walk in anytime for a test, Meriter requires you to call in advance to schedule a lab test. 3-Communication and order processing: At UW, communicating with your provider about a lab test results in a prompt order. At Meriter, however, you need to confirm the test and engage in multiple follow-up messages with the nurse to ensure the order is ready. Coupled with the scheduling inconvenience, this makes the process time-consuming. 4-Appointment availability when sick: UW allows for nurse appointments when you're sick, with a scheduled time to see someone. In contrast, at Meriter, you must call early in the morning or go over the weekend to check for availability. 5-My recent experience: I recently scheduled a lab test over the phone with a nurse at Meriter, drove 20 minutes, only to realize they hadn't scheduled my third lab test. This necessitated an additional 40-minute round trip. For individuals with busy schedules, especially those working, I would not recommend Meriter based on these experiences."
"Dr. Feliz at the Middleton clinic has been my Dr for 10 years. He is the best I know because I was an Rn for 38 years in Madison and took my mental health clients to get their care from he and his staff. I had one bad experience with one of the rns and they weregone after I com plained all the other staff were wonderful Dr Felz is truly the best Md I have ever seen and as rn I have vast experience with afair number of mds in Madison. I wish you well Ken you deserve it !!!"
"Honestly this place has terrible service and outside of loana I do not trust their scheduling department at all. I’ve been calling for weeks to try to get my son in for an appointment as he needs one before school otherwise I will have no daycare options and am a full time single mother and the cut off is this Friday to submit paperwork, they keep giving me the run around as they aren’t scheduling out until December. Wait list is a joke, and I JUST got a call from another clinic that they’ll schedule me but for October and that I could go to the after hours clinic on a weekend to get this done. Why was I not told that weeks ago, so I could go on a weekend BEFORE the cutoff I told them about multiple times?? I am so irate by the lack of empathy and care received and still have no clue what I am going to do for my 7 year olds health care. What a joke."
"I recently had an appointment at this clinic as a new patient, so disclaimer: I honestly don’t know what the doctors here are like and don’t post this review on account of patient care. I wasn’t able to see any doctor, and my review is based solely on my interaction with the front desk. I arrived a few minutes later than 10 minutes after my appointment time and was told the clinic has a 10 minute late policy that meant your appointment gets forfeited. I had no idea this policy existed- I was not made aware when I made the appointment by phone, received an e-mail reminder, or in the multiple text reminders I got to check-in either (though I’d already checked in). I had actually been stuck in traffic and construction getting to the clinic for 40 minutes, even though I should have left my job in plenty of time to make the appointment on time. Just bad luck, and I was doing my best to get there as soon as I could. You can probably guess the rude and indifferent receptionist didn’t care one iota, and who am I to argue with policy? It just would’ve been nice to know this policy before, and not have wasted my time and taken hours off work trying to get there once I knew I would be late. Maybe the doctors here are great, but the way I was treated by front desk was inconsiderate, impersonal, and unprofessional. There’s too many other good doctors in and around Madison, it’s better to find another clinic that treats me like a person."
"Dr. Gomez-Goldman, the other clinicians, and the entire staff here are all excellent and very kind. Dr. Gomez-Goldman is a good listener and really takes time with her patients, and today I had a great experience with one of the nurses (I believe her name was Jennifer maybe?). She worked to squeeze me into one of the physicians' full schedules for a same-day appointment to treat a minor but incredibly annoying acute issue, when UW Health told me they wouldn't be able to fit me in for 6 (!!) months. Grateful for the staff here!"
