Reviews
"I went to this facility today, and was quite uncomfortable. The women here aren’t that receptive, from the assistant to the nurse it was a very uncomfortable experience. Would not recommend for African American women!!"
"Mixed reviews… In general I’m very impressed with the children’s urgent care on Burleigh. The facility itself is very clean, the wait times are generally very short and the staff are very friendly. The only negative thing I can say is that open hours are very limited and inconvenient if you want your child to be evaluated in the morning. Our most recent visit was extremely frustrating. After being roomed, my daughter and I waited for over an hour to be seen initially by the NP without any notification that care would be delayed. After speaking with the NP it seemed as though she was going to treat my daughter for strep. In her words my daughter exhibited four out of five common symptoms associated with bacterial pharyngitis including headache, stomach pain, painful swallowing and fevers. Prior to testing she mentioned treating my daughter with amoxicillin and even mentioned that the medication is now only once daily. The provider mentioned initially that she had a high suspicion for strep based on her clinical exam. The test came back negative and now the provider said she will not treat with antibiotics, explaining away all the symptoms that we talked about earlier. I asked if she could send out the test to do PCR testing and she said that the rapid testing was PCR testing, however, when I look at the test result in mychart it looks like NAAT point of care testing. The provider lied right to my face claiming the testing was PCR testing and that the rapid test is as sensitive when I know for a fact that it’s not. If she couldn’t or didn’t want to do PCR testing she should have been honest and said so rather than lying about it. I expressed my concerns about recurrent strep infections and that I was afraid we just came in a little too early for testing and requested antibiotics but the provider refused. I would hope that this provider would use her clinical judgement to help diagnose and treat not just rely solely on testing. Also, my daughter was complaining of ABD pain and the provider never touched or evaluated her ABD even though in her assessment charting she wrote ABD “soft and non-tender”. Lying to patient’s and documenting something you did not do is terribly unethical. I really enjoy this clinic but am irritated and frustrated with the care we received and the way we were treated"
"I have been a Children's Hospital supporter for years. The flexibility and convenience of having this urgent care location is a blessing. Now that my daughter will be 18 soon, I will miss the quality of care and compassion we recieved from Children's."
"Received exceptional care! Waiting room was busy but overall wait time was reasonable. Friendly, caring, compassionate staff!"
"Took my baby here multiple times because he kept rubbing his ear each time they said he didn’t have one so after a month of them saying he didn’t have one he started having fevers, diarrhea, and in a lot of pain so we took him to the ER they diagnosed him with an ear infection right away . Maybe the doctors at the er have better training im not sure but I wasn’t happy about that at all ."
