"On June 24, 2018 Traditional Moving Company were over 3 hours late to my appointment, unprepared with no supplies, no blankets, no shrink wrap and no wardrobe boxes. The move took over 8 hours to move a small one bedroom home of 2 dressers, a 2 piece couch, 1 queen bed, 32” flat screen, 40 boxes and miscellaneous ½ mile distance. All dishes marked fragile were broken, one end table corner chipped (photos submitted to company). Assembly of bed frame – all four screws were hand tightened – bed wobbled (photos submitted to company). Assembly of a table – none – table top placed on top of legs (photos submitted to company). Flat screen tv mount bolts lost. NOTE: To speed things up, I moved my own clothes, shoes, sheets, towels, a few boxes, plants, computers, printers, scanners, and some miscellaneous items. The company will not provide a receipt for the move and fees The company will not return my calls. I do not recommend anyone use this companies services! I had to click on one start to post this review. I rate this company ZERO stars!!!"
"Mike Polastro's Traditional Moving Co. moved me from Dana Point to San Juan Capistrano on February 6, 2016, a distance of only about 4 miles. Jeff and Albert were the two movers. Along with the usual living room and bedroom furniture, mattresses and other household goods, I had 3 of my own guitars in cases (which I moved), and my late son's Fender amp and Fender electric guitar, which they moved for me. One of the two movers was really into music and we talked about it. The Fender amp never showed up at my new place. Also, I just looked into my son's guitar case after storing it away in a back closet during a very busy moving day - and the Fender he had searched hard for and driven to LA to buy when he was very ill had been replaced with a cheap Yamaha electric guitar. Polastro was willing to talk to me after the move about a payment when I had only noticed the missing amp - now the settlement would be at least double, but still only $600-$700 total, and he won't return any of my calls. Not sure he's covered for it anyway after reading the posting from 4 years ago, which I certainly wish I had read back then. Take my advice and don't go near this company."
"MOVERS BEWARE -- For your own good, please take a moment and read the reviews here on Yelp and on Google related to damage and insurance with Traditional Moving Company. Like others here, we had a similar problem with a local move (less than 1.5 miles away) back in August 2015 and are wishing we dove a bit deeper than just looking at Yelp's misleading 4+ star rating. Besides showing up on time, the movers did little right and damaged almost all of the furniture they moved. We did our best to protect ourselves and paid for the extra Actual Cash Value insurance that they offer. Unfortunately, that hasn't helped as we have going back and forth with them for 4+ months with little response and no visible progress or resolution. In contrasting our experience with others reviews, it's obvious this isn't a unique problem that we encountered but instead, the way this business operates in focusing on new deals versus servicing existing or past customers. Unless you want to deal with this nightmare and put your cherished belongings at risk, GO ELSEWHERE. We had a similar issue with damage with Allied some years back and the process was exemplary. Unfortunate for those who prefer to support local businesses..."
"TL;DR: My experience with Traditional Moving Co was pretty good. The team that arrived at my door was on time, ready to work, and seemed happy to be there. Michael's communication after the move was good, and he was able to work through getting an insurance claim on my refrigerator. The long version: A team of 3 guys showed up to my house, and impressively packed a 3+bedroom into the truck in a little over 4 hours. They must have some crazy experience with the game Tetris. However, because they packed the truck so full, some casualties were had. There were definitely some pieces of furniture that we should have opted to move ourselves. In all we lost 3 cocktail tables, a few pieces of glassware, and our fridge was damaged. The fridge was the only piece we were really worried about. After the 3 guys had unloaded into our new place (again, in 4 hours, with nearly everything in the room it was supposed to be in), I placed a call to Michael about getting my refrigerator door fixed. At first I was worried that Michael might blow me off, and not want to file the insurance claim. Initial communication was slow, which through up some red flags. In the end though, Michael pulled through and sent a check to cover the damage with almost no fuss. Perfect ending to the story. All in all we had a good experience with Traditional Movers. Next time we move we'll be a bit more particular about what items go in the truck, and what items come with us."
"I had the highest hopes for this business after reading their reviews on here and Yelp - however, I had to come back and write a new review because this company is a fraud and should not be trusted. They only carry the minimum insurance and it will not cover your furniture. A horror story is an understatement, We hired two of Traditional Movers movers to move a small amount of our heaviest and most expensive furniture out of a storage unit in Irvine to our new home in Aliso Viejo. The two movers that arrived were very unprofessional, bragging about how many houses they have moved that day. (That should have been a sign right there). It gets worse. The movers dropped our Pottery Barn coffee table - ruining the side and the drawers. They dragged our furniture on the ground, carried our couch and cloth chairs with dirty hands leaving large black stains. Finally after it was all said and done, they created over $2000 in damage to our furniture. Michael the owner sent us a check for $240 and has gone completely MIA. This wont replace anything that they broke and now we are stuck with broken furniture and a very bad experience. I will be telling all of my friends and family to stay as far away from this company as possible."
