"If I could give my one-on-one therapist (Stephanie Coates) a personal 5 star I would, because she’s simply amazing. HOWEVER, my husband and I are also in marriage counseling, with a different therapist, Emily Giles (Waukesha). Off the bat, she was taking sides with my husband, not sure if that’s professional, or if it’s because he’s a physician, and wants to believe he’s perfectly innocent in this marriage. So, this is where it gets “fun”. My husband had wanted me to come to his first therapy appointment with him (waiting in lobby), I had hesitated because when it’s 80° and sunny out, ideally I’d like to be doing other things but I know that had I wanted him to come with me to an appointment, he would. So, I did. His therapist, Erin Hernikl came out and greeted him, and as they’re walking back to the room, she said, “come on back, it’s a party back here!!!” EXCUSE ME? Therapy is the LEAST BIT of a “party”. People go to therapy for their struggles and mental illnesses. So, that made me extremely uncomfortable. I had expressed to my husband, afterwards, on the way home that it made me feel some type of way. The next day, we happen to have marriage therapy, with Emily Giles. She had asked how we were doing, both separate, and in our marriage. My husband had mentioned that his therapist made that comment and how unprofessional it was and that it made me uncomfortable and that he thinks it’s best that he shouldn’t go back to her. Keep in mind, we are being vulnerable, thinking she would not violate HIPAA. But, once again, the mental healthcare field continues to fail us. Two days after our marriage therapy, his therapist emails him, “ Just wanted to follow up with you. We had reserved a 5:30 timeslot on 6/5, but wanted to wait until I had confirmation from you on how you would like to proceed-whether that is with me or if needing to find a new therapist?“ WOW! How coincidental! I’m so glad that we both have opened up to our marriage therapist, telling her things about myself, and my childhood, naively thinking she knows about HIPAA and practices it. Fast forward to yesterday, when my husband had his one-on-one therapy with Erin. She instantly started the session out with me “being insecure” and then trying to DIAGNOSE ME, someone she’s NEVER MET and IS NOT MY THERAPIST. Let alone, not a psychiatrist; either. Needless to say, I filed a HIPAA privacy complaint and will demand justice. Shame on you guys, for hiring people that don’t respect people’s privacy. And, we wonder why the suicide rate is at an all time high. We can’t even trust the healthcare workers! DO BETTER!!!!"
"I love Jules! She is warm, compassionate, understanding, and has empathy in abundance. She is everything that I value as a therapist, and also as a person. I cannot recommend her highly enough!"
"I clicked instantly with my therapist! Lifestance has has been such a wonderful addition to becoming a better, healed and happy person. The environment is welcoming, clean and comforting. I have recommended this place to a few people and will continue to do so!"
"I've been in some kind of counseling for over thirty years, since I was ten years old. I've been going to Cornerstone for probably at least twenty years and seeing my current therapist for almost as long. I have seen a couple other people for things such as marriage counseling and medication management. I honestly don't know where the bad reviews are coming from. Every therapist has a different "style", just like a workout coach. The therapist I see is more outgoing and talkative. We like a lot of the same things. And she's really good at calling me out on things I need to work on. She's a really good fit for me, I get a lot out of seeing her and would be lost without her. It was different with the therapist I saw previously (who I started seeing when I was about ten). She was quieter, much more soft spoken, we didn't have much in common. But that doesn't mean I didn't get anything out of our sessions because I did. I think with therapy you get out of it what you're willing to put in. It's not an instant fix. It takes time."
"My family and I have been seeing therapists at this office for years. All the therapists have been compassionate, well educated and dedicated to our care. I’ve always thought my concerns were important and the solutions offered were creative and well thought out. The results have been profound and I have often recommended this office to people looking for support. Because of the great care we’ve received from Dr. Sandy Adams, Aaron Munson, and Robin Coleman, my family and I are well adjusted and successful in our daily lives. Highly recommend."
