Reviews of Mission Fed Credit Union
"It took a month to access our trust account. Had to make an appointment every time. Tried calling the person helping us but he didn’t even have a voicemail set up. What a struggle Missing paperwork, some faxed some not, redo paperwork, wait. Not right paperwork…..restart, can’t log in, still sending information to old fiduciary etc….everything that could go wrong did! On the day we final were able to see the account the person helping us ushered us out because they were closing in 10 minutes and couldn’t be inconvenienced while I frivolously tapped on my phone making sure I could log in so I would not have to come back."
"The people working here are beyond rude. I came in to open an account and give them business. They acted like" I should be so lucky to bank with them." The manager had that kinda smile that just said " you are beneath me you peasant! ". It was really an unpleasant feeling and experience. He stated I needed additional paperwork to finalize my account , asking for my Marriage Certificate of all things! He told me to return it twenty minutes as he would be with another costumer. I came 30 minutes later, he was still with the customer. Upon leaving his office he gazed over at my wife and I as we stood there waiting. He made a whispered comment to his fellow employees and they all began to snicker and giggle. I spoke with the employee at the front counter and they then told me I would have to make an appointment at a later date to see the Manager. I stated I felt that I had given plenty of information to open a Checking account: I.D, Social Security, Marriage Certificate, Mail from residence. But.... apparently that wasn't enough, they still wanted me to take more time out of my life to come to them and sit in a tiny glass office with the Manager with the " I hate you" eyes. This seems like the perfect time for them to have made it easier fo me, by finalizing my account and allowing me to deposit some cash into the bank. But nope, they never called me back and I haven't heard a thing. DON'T BANK HERE PEOPLE, At least not until they replace the Manager. **UPDATE** After not hearing from this branch in 3 weeks regarding my account, I received a call today from an extremely rude individual named Francisco. I stated that I had decided not to bank with them after my previous experience. They stated they would refund my "$1" account opening fee. I then made it clear and known to them that I was actually charged a total of $6 dollars. It was $5 to open the Checking account and $1 to open a Savings account. I made them aware that I had record and proof of the charge on my Credit Card statement. They immediately stated that I would have to call some hotline to take care of the additional refund. I replied that I didn't feel that was fair or descent customer service to ask me the customer to take time from my day to call another line to find out where this $5 refund was. They refused to be of any help whatsoever and i stated that " this is exactly why i chose not to bank with you" and they immediately replied " good day" and hung up the phone. They could have easily made amends of the situation and worked out the issue. But they chose to do nothing and simply hang up and make it my problem. So here I am not banking with this branch, but still having issues with them. Mission Federal you truly need to investigate the employees you have working at this branch, they are totally bogus and losing you business."
"My husband and I had an appointment last week at 2:30 pm. He had called in and made it over the phone. We notated it in our calendars and i had arranged to have the day off for this. When we got to the counter we were told that there is no appointment scheduled for us. The teller went to see the assistant manager but came back to tell us that there is no availability for that day. I respectfully declined that answer and asked to speak with the assistant manager ourselves. He came out to tell us that today there is no availability for us because we didn’t have an appointment and he had no desk staff at the moment and he himself was unable to help because he was on lunch. My husband and I both explained more than once how we had obtained our appointment and that we felt it was very inconvenient for us to send us away when we had time scheduled and taken off of work to deal with a bank matter (we also don’t live in Poway so it’s a bit of a drive for us). The assistant manager told us that there is ‚no record‘ of us making the appointment which made us feel like he is accusing us of lying to put the blame of this oops on us. After the conversation became a bit uncomfortable because we were simply asking for help in order not to have to make a different appointment (the assistant manager offered for us to wait an hour to be seen until he was done with his lunch which we couldn’t take on) he said ‚I Am done here‘ and walked off. There are several things that went wrong here. 1. putting their miscommunication on us was really unfortunate and inappropriate, i shouldn’t have to produce screen shots of a text conversation with my husband the week prior where he told me ‚we have an appointment with mission fed at x date in order for someone to believe me or pictures of my personal calendar and 2. the assistant manager repeatedly mentioning that he can’t help because he is on lunch really just made it sound like he is preferring to have his lunch in order to help us. If there was such a thing as a corporate rule where once he is clocked out he can’t clock in to work without breaking policy he could have said so. Some advice: just providing simple and good customer service goes a long way in keeping your membership. Banks struggle these days and this kind of attitude isn’t helping! After all, we simply wanted to be helped with a matter that would have probably taken 30 - 60 minutes on the day and time we were scheduled. Not an hour later and definitely not at another time. We have since removed all of our assets from mission fed and will not be doing further banking with this institution."
"Electronic Counterfeit Note Report Imagine needing $100 to pay your rent. But only because the bank that you trust gave you a fake $100 dollar bill. Counterfeit alert: when you receive cash from a teller ask for new bills only. I went to this location today 03/06/2021 to withdraw $1300 in large billls. I went straight to Chase bank to pay my rent on time. The teller at Chase notifies me that one of the 100 dollar bills is not real. I tell her that’s impossible Mission federal just gave me that bill. Long story short I was robbed of 100 dollars the manager at Mission said there’s is nothing we can do. I immediately terminated my banking with mission. PLEASE PEOPLE ASK FOR NEW BILLS ONLY. ***** I contacted corporate. But no response so far."
"I closed my account today. I had been with Mission Fed for ten years, and the service has always been good and there usually are friendly faces that I like to see. However, today I went in with $100 in twenties and was trying to get small bills and the teller refused. She asked me if it was for work and I said yes I was on the clock. She told me she couldn’t do it if it was for my work so I told her the money was mine, but she refused again. Thanks for making my life harder, I’m sure it would have been exausting to help me out. I made sure to tell all my coworkers about the service I got today so they all know to bank with somebody else, as well as tell my whole family who are all members of Mission fed as well."
