"Be very careful with this outfit. Within the first few months of account, I started receiving calls, texts, emails, multi time a day about account due, cash payment was made in ample time to clear. Calls started you account is due today, how do you want to pay, Gave them clear proof that payments were made and have receipts and confirmation directly from them the payments had cleared and processed. Now the vendor They chose to accept my payments did not pay them. They informed me Night Until they received they money from their vendor my account would remain due or overdue. What I fail to understand is after I pay cash to a vendor of their choice how I am still responsible for assuring their vendors pay them on a timely manner. We have no control over their vendors. I did refinance the loan with another company and NEVER to due business with them again, Have a perfect payment history for many years and a company like this can destroy that . I recommend using anyone but Westlake Financial"
"This finance company is the worst! Stay away from them. My dad had a loan with them, and I would just pay him the monthly payment and insurance. You might be asking, well why didn't you apply for it. I was underage and couldn't apply for anything at the time. Since my dad struggles with technology, I took over the account. The interest rate on this contract was 16.89%. However, each payment I made, which was $386.77, about $215, went to the car itself. This was odd, so I called them and asked what that was about, and they just came up with excuses that didn't make sense. For instance, one said every day it collects 16.89%. Like, what even is that. I was paying this car for about 2 years, and I did the math on the $170 it was taking from me, and it came to about $4100 that was all going to interest. The term on this contract was 72 months, and I only needed 41 months, so just imagine if I had stayed with them. That would've been $12,240 in interest. I knew I had to leave them. And by that, my only option was to refinance it. Fast forward 2 years, I'm currently serving active duty in the military and have excellent credit. So, I applied for a loan with Navy Federal, which was quickly approved. Since I have no history with auto loans or any sort of big loans. They gave me 8.9% with a total of $2900 going to interest for a 60 month term. Let's just compare the $2900 to $12k. I'm glad I paid this off as fast as possible. I know as soon as I found out what the interest rate would be, I should've gone somewhere else, but young me just wanted a car. I learned from that and won't make the same mistake."
"I had a vehicle financed with Westlake then I refinanced with a bank. Bank paid Westlake. About a year later Westlake says I owe $439. And put a missed payment on my credit report. I have tried to work with them on this issue but they still say it is my problem. It was also hard to find anyone that spoke clear English to understand. I will never use Westlake again. And I will tell anyone that asks to stay away from those crooks."
"Kudos to VANESSA CARRANZA! She was so patient and kind with me! She understood what I had called in for! She showed a lot of empathy with my situation to getting my account up to date and scheduled payment :) Thank You Vanessa! -B&S Miller"
"DO NOT USE WESTLAKE FINANCIAL by any means whatsoever! There are better competitors out there who care about their customers. I used them to purchase a truck in November 2022. I made payments for about 16 months and only $3,000 was knocked off the principal due to the high interest rate, but that's nothing. My fault for having mediocre credit. The real problem came in when my vehicle was involved in a rash of auto thefts near Atlanta, GA where multiple vehicles were vandalized in one night. Other people's belongings were thrown into my pickup truck and my truck was broken into and stolen. The entire thing was caught on surveillance cameras and the police have a good idea of who did it. I immediately reported the theft to my auto insurance and to Westlake Financial whom I use for GAP insurance which also covers vehicle theft. Despite my payments being up to date for the past several months, and despite having a complete zero dollar outstanding balance, Westlake Financial denied my claim because they said I had been late with a few payments during the year prior. They admitted I was up to date presently, and even so well before the theft. It doesn't matter. Due to my late payments a year prior, my claim is denied. No appeal. No explanation. Turns out they denied me several weeks ago but was too incompetent to email it to the correct address. And this is AFTER speaking to someone over the phone who assured me my GAP policy was good. They told me to just wait 30 days to see if the cops could locate my truck. I called immediately after the 30 days just to be notified that I had been denied weeks ago. Crazy thing is I just made another full payment on the account and I have no vehicle to show for it. They are ruthless, heartless and emotionless. Something like this is pennies to Westlake Financial, but to me this is a loss that is devastating to my family. I don't know where to turn. If feels like being robbed twice. The lesson I learned from this is that all robbers don't wear ski masks. I vow, that I Lamar Bush will never make such a horrible mistake again"
