"I unfortunately took a signing job with Signing Stream back in July. I agreed to a $75 fee for the work. I completed everything perfectly and returned the docs accordingly. A month later I get a call saying that they only approved payment for this job up to $55 and asked if I would accept that. I politely informed them that I still have the confirmation email stating they would pay a fee of $75, but as a professional courtesy, I would compromise with them in the middle at $65 - this one time only; and only if they were able to mail payment that day (since it had already taken much longer than I expected to be paid.) A couple more weeks have passed and here I am re-reading an email saying payment was sent 5 days ago. My address on the email is correct, so maybe, just maybe, ... "the check is in the mail"? I'm not holding my breath."
"Ok. I never complain publicly about a signing company but I’m done with Signing Stream. I know they have terrible reviews but I did a signing with them anyway. They came back to me after two trips on a signing and asked me if I would cut my fee because they had an accounting error. I initially said (verbally) they could cut my fee but after reviewing the notes on the signing and the CD, I realized there shouldn’t be a need for me to cut my fee. The CD showed $200 for the signing and more than enough to cover my two trips without any errors. I also saw on this forum that they have done this to other Notaries so this seems to be protocol for them. I refused and stated they needed to pay me as agreed. They sent me a partial check. I will be sending them a demand letter for the rest of the payment. Do NOT work with this company. This is a despicable way to treat clients."
"Worst company to work for if you are a Notary. They pay pennies $50 for a signing. They require full faxback. They do not pay extra for a full faxback. They take 45 days or more to pay after the signing is completed. If you are not paid then good luck getting support which is very bad. And on top of all this if the borrower refuses to sign for any reason, then you as a notary do not get paid for your trip & print fee for printing 2 sets of documents. So you will be traveling 20-40 miles for free and printing for free and wasting your time."
"If I could give this business 0 stars, I would do so. I am a Notary Signing Agent who completed 5 signings with this company in May 2016. To date, I have not been paid for 3 of the signings. I have attempted to contact this company, but continue to get the runaround. Today I finally heard from them and they want me to pay $10 to obtain proof of payment. If you are a Notary, do not take assignments from this company as you run the risk of not being paid. If you are seeking a Notary, go elsewhere, use a different company."
"I am a highly experienced Notary/C.S.A. and have completed over 3000+ "error-free" loan signings since 2005. I accepted and performed a loan signing for Signing Stream on 7/17/15. The lender was "Cash Call Mortgage". Loan package was error-free and closed and recorded on time with no issues. "Cash Call Mortgage" personally verified, with me, that Signing Stream, Inc. was paid their billed notarization fee at the beginning of August 2015. After several phone calls and emails, a payment check was finally issued to me on 9/15/15 and received on 9/17/15, 60 days after the signing. Fact: By Law, Escrow companies must disburse all funds at escrow close, which they did. I WILL NOT accept any notary assignments from this company at any price at any time in the future. No signing company I deal with pays later than 30 days after close. CLOSELY read the independent contractor agreement especially the "Disparagement Clause"."
