"By far one of, if not the best bicycle shop in the east bay. The owner wants you to enjoy your ride, has bikes to sell, will give you tips for self maintenance, and prices are more than reasonable. I have had multiple bikes tuned, spoke repairs, wheels trued, bought equipment, and just talked biking. Every experience is amazing. No matter what you ride, this rider enthusiast turned shop owner has you covered with a smile and a text message when your work is ready to be picked up. Hours are a little limited, but worth catching in the windows where they are open. Was referred by a friend, been to multiple other shops, but this one is home."

"I am an avid cyclist, both MTB and roadies. I ride a lot and I invest in good equipment that needs routine maintenance, adjustments, and upgrades. Some of my bikes and equipment are purchased at Area Cycles and some are not. But pretty much all of the work is done here. Kenji never pushes you to buy something you don't need or at a price that is unreasonable for what you get. He has even recommended I buy certain things from elsewhere knowing that there is a better price than he can provide. "Really had a nice experience at this shop purchasing an Aventon electric bike (photo attached). The purchase indeed was a nice experience from fitting to adjustments to pricing. Kenji was incredibly patient allowing me to meticulously test bike. Kenji made many fine adjustments including brake handle positioning, brake pad centering, and general fitting. There were at least 5 customers waiting and he did not rush me in the purchase. This was probably my best bike shop experience. Keep doing what you do and I wish you continued success."
