"Previous principal was truly awesome. You could tell he really cared about the kids and wanted to do what was best for them. Seems the character of the teachers all changed after the new principal took over. Although, if you do live in the area and have to go here, all is not lost, try to get into Mrs. Biggins class. She totally rocks!"
"Amazing school. Better than Vista Grande. How? Its in our anthem: "THE SOLEADO SUNS ARE WINNERS, TODAY.""
"Cute school. Nice staff. Not enough parking and bad cell reception."
"In February 2014, the new Principal of Soleado, suspended a 6 year old Kindergartner for accidentally bringing a blunt butter knife to school in his pocket. The child never threatened anyone or even took it out, yet he was harassed and interrogated by her and her two psychologists for approximately an hour or more. When the father arrived, the Principal instructed that the door be shut in his face as she "wasn't done yet." The father politely knocked on the door and entered, she aggressively told him that if he didn't leave the room his son would be "put in foster care immediately." The father replied "This is b.s. You're blowing things out of proportion." She suddenly screamed "He had a 6" kitchen knife!" -which was untrue. As he approached his son to take him home, she screamed "Call 911!" and while they waited for the police, the father patiently let her have her way. When the police arrived she waved them away saying "Everything is fine, you can go." The father and son calmly left. That evening, Child Services stopped by the family's home. They conducted a thorough investigation and the case was closed as unfounded. She falsely accused the father of kicking the door in, threatening her and her staff with a switchblade knife, and abusing his children -which was all false. She also falsely accused the mother of neglect and not being involved in her children's lives -which was untrue as well. (The mother volunteered that semester as a Docent for Art at Your Fingertips, school Librarian, and also Class Treasurer). A formal complaint was filed with the PVPUSD School Board and prior Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent handled the case. The district's official response was to simply transfer the children to another school and deny any wrongdoing."
