Golf at Pala Mesa Resort

"San Diego County boasts numerous golf courses, all of which surpass this particular one in every aspect, even the 3 Par courses. The website leaves much to be desired, providing little useful information. As for the course itself, it is in a sorry state—damaged, parched, and lacking proper maintenance. While it may present a challenge, it does so for all the wrong reasons. The price they demand is certainly not justified. The course, along with its restaurant and resort, desperately require new leadership or perhaps should be metaphorically "burned down," as it appears the owners have little regard for their upkeep."

"It's just a so so course. Nothing really special and nothing really to complain about either. It's super narrow on a number of holes but ultimately doesn't play very tough. Course was in great shape and the greens are starting to take form after punching/sanding. Still overgrown and too sandy right now but looks like they will end up in good shape over the next few weeks. Rough looks like it had been overgrown but the maintenance crew was cutting it down as I played. The amount of leftover clippings was evidence enough that it needed to happen. Probably not a course that I would make the effort to drive out to just to play it again but there really wasn't anything much more to complain about. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Price was reasonable."

"Nice course, well maintained and good greens. There is lots of elevation with greens up high and down sloping aprons, lots of fun elevated tees and intimidating par fives uphill all the way. Some tricky dog legs. One of our foursomes, playing from the gold senior tees came in at 7 under in a scramble. Greens are fair and fun, several close birdie putts. I left one star off because I was frustrated with the carts. I had to change carts due to mechanical problems, but the most frustrating part was the speed control shutting us down too far from the greens and tees. Spent way too much time going 2mph or backwards to get my ball. Also more times than I could handle the GPS was displaying advertising or warnings and I couldn't see the hole data screens. Parking is easy and plentiful and you can drive the carts in the parking lot. Staff was friendly and casual. Pro shop prices reasonable, I bought a glove for $14. Bathrooms are in good condition and there are bathrooms on the course front and back nines. Full driving range, putting green and I think I saw a chipping practice green. There is a sandwich shack where you can order food from the closing holes but I recommend going into the restaurant where the is better shade, food, and beer."

"As always golf course beautiful and great shape. After golf lunch and a cold beer in order. Great staff. Fish and Chips outstanding."

"Ok course, not really my standards of a resort course. Alot of repairs needed to be done to the fairways. Had to start on hole 10. Course very slow 9nly good thing was the music and gps in the cart."
