"These 5 stars are for Ellie. When I got to the store, she was working the frontend/ door. I asked her about renewing my membership, she said I could shop & renew at checkout, or renew at customer service if not shopping. When I got to checkout, I was expecting a promo renewal fee. The cashier told me it was an online offer only, so I stepped aside and entered info on the Sam's system, which the system then wouldn't process. The cashier told me Customer Service could help me but, turns out, not so much. The gal with no name tag at the service desk barely pretended to take an interest in my online issues. When I finally said to her, "You don't want to help me" and started walking away, she said, loudly, "I can't see your phone!" as if that was the problem after having not said a single word about not being able to see my phone the previous 5 minutes I was with her. I headed for the exit, Ellie was at the door, I mentioned how rude the woman at Customer Service had been, and Ellie took it upon herself then & there to figure out and resolve the online renewal issues on my phone for me while continuing her frontend duties. In the end, I didn't qualify for the lower renewal fee, she told me it was for new members only, good to know, I renewed my membership. Ellie was pro-active in her willingness to help, knowledgeable about the online system, has a great manner and is the definition of "professional." The other gal, none of the above. As I was leaving the store with my items, Ellie made a final contact on her own to apologize for my earlier experience. She is supervisor/manager material at the very least."

"Shopped with family member who has Sam's membership. Tried to return an item 2 days later – obnoxious cashier said they "don't accept returns from non-nembers".. I had a receipt! Drove 40 minutes to St Cloud. I had returned stuff before at different Sam's locations - no problem, so I tried to reason. But she decided to be a jerk. I said "thanks for nothing, I will make sure to leave an honest review." Woman at returns had a nerve to say "You're welcome!" Service is sub-par, rude cashiers."

"Nov 2023: The seasons change, and so does the stock. Lots of tempting buys before black Friday. My personal favorite Sam's staff is Darin in Pharmacy. Always informative helpful and cheerful. Really all the staff in Pharmacy are great. Thanks. New: 4/23: Still *** Some things never change. It was pre- Easter busy, and lots of yard, garden and spring stuff. New Update: 8/2022: I buy all my gas at Costco - Top Tier and 4% on the Costco Card if you are a Gold Star member using their Citi Card. Very few waits there, and same price. I still like (and USE) Scan & Go at Sam's (Why doesn't everyone, it's SO easy?) I almost laugh when I see people standing in line to check out. You don't have to do that. Just use your cell phone and the app to scan your products as you put them in the cart.. Swipe to pay, and leave without any wait. Sam's is still way behind on any organic foods. (One * Star there). It's fairly clear to me that they are catering to people who want cheaper prices and don't care so much about ingredients. The evidence of that is the fact that Lays Corporation has taken over all of the chip department. Very few healthy choices, but I suppose it's the stuff that kids love. To be honest, I don't have to worry THAT much about the price differences. I'd go for the organic anytime even if it costs more, but I know many people have to be a lot more careful. Sam's is probably a good place for that. Old update...Feb 2022 - The gas station is always a hassle, wait in line, routed left for left fill vehicles, but some pumps aren't used since you have to ignore their route plan to get there. It's really a stupid gas station setup. In the club, Scan & Go is great, no more waiting at checkout, ***** five stars for that, but less due to the fact that they are way behind in organic foods! Costco does it better. AND 2022, STILL behind, if not worse."

"Love same club! The ability to ring my stuff up with my phone as I shop, then just breeze out the door can’t be beat! Plus their return policy is A+! The fresh sushi is amazing and watching them make it is fun!"
