"The Trimborn Farm site is the actual buildings of the Trimborn Farm lime production facility. It began in 1851. Southeastern Wisconsin, even today is surrounded by quarries and the lime business drove the economy in the area for decades. By 1880, more than one million barrels of lime were shipped annually. The original building still stand on the site. Parking is on the actual property. The boyhood home of Jeremiah Curtin is on the eastern edge of the site. I found the massive kiln to be the most interesting. The road/parking area is not paved so there may be a bit of difficulty for handicapped persons."
