"My conclusion is that I’m Still sticking with a person driven car. So I tried the driverless experience today with a three stop trip. That feature was cool and it is cheaper than driver rider shares, mainly because there is no tip. However that savings was not worth the negatives, which were dirty cars, a lack of common sense (I guess that should be obvious), and the “stop staring at me” factor. The first car I got in had a cigarette butt on the seat and wreaked. The other cars weren’t that bad, but you could tell people don’t care because no one’s in the car. Just a little gross. The lack of common sense is just that sometimes it navigates complicated situations and other times it does a 30-point easy right turn. And that leads into my final point. I personally felt a little embarrassed getting in and out in busy places. Everyone stares. And then when you are stuck doing a 30-point easy right turn, you really feel those stares and you can’t do anything about it. Also, it’s weird to have all the cameras on you. Hence, not at the level where that little savings is worth it."
"Context: my friend called the ride because he got off the waitlist Ride was easy, as easy as Uber. Better than transit and a little bit better than Cruise (no 25mph limit). 4 Stars because of no waitlist updates"
"I just watched a Waymo car with the sensors on the roof cut off two lanes of traffic to make a left turn from the right lane and almost cause a bad accident in Tempe Az on Mill Ave and University Dr. this is the busiest intersection in Tempe. Not very comforting to witness."
"Had a ton of fun riding one of these in Phoenix. Truly driverless from pickup to drop off was very impressed."
