Reviews of Residence Inn by Marriott Madison West/Middleton
"Rooms okay. Front desk charged the incorrect card for my stay which sent me on a wild goose chase going between staff that didn’t know what they were doing and my bank. Please train your FD staff to confirm method of payment during check-in and check-out process, and how to complete a refund and recharge a card. Very annoyed with the entire situation."
"This hotel was very nice to be at. Staff is friendly, location is good, it’s clean and comfortable. The pool is good. It’s rather big, about 13 meters/42 feet and very clean. There’s a whirlpool next to it as well great for relaxing, though when I used it, it did have a lot of chlorine in it to the point that it was foaming up. That could’ve been a one time thing though cause it didn’t foam up anymore after they cleaned the whirlpool and pool. The breakfast was good and you had a few things to choose from. The hotel is right next to an active railway, but that wasn’t a problem because there was maybe 1 train that passed by while I was there, and you barely hear it. You get some windows that you can open slightly which is great, cause I love opening them up a bit to get some fresh air in the room. A lot of hotels seem to forget to add windows that can be at least cracked open. My only few criticisms of my stay were that when you walk in, there is a small hallway that has 2 sliding doors, probably to keep the cold out, and that hallway had a very unpleasant smell. I noticed that they tried to clean it more, but that helped maybe for 1 day. My second criticism, and it’s more nip picking, is that the carpet creates a LOT of static electricity and I was getting shocked every time I moved a bit and touched some metal, I never had this happen this often, so it was quite a surprise. The last thing to mention is that the a/c makes a lot of noise, but contrary to some other hotels I’ve been at, you can at least fully turn it off."
"COMFY STAY!! We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Our room was equipped with a kitchenette and all the necessary amenities that you look for in a hotel. Rooms were clean and well kept. Breakfast was good and they were able to restock the empty bowls quickly. We had fun in at the pool but the poolside was lacking towels."
"We had a suite with two bedrooms and living space/kitchen. Rooms were nice and plenty of amenities. The hotel's indoor pool was refreshing, especially when it was freezing outside. Location is near lots of shops and restaurants. Their breakfast buffet had a good selection to choose from. Would definitely stay there again!"
"Very nicely updated! Forgot to grab pictures of the room before we put all our stuff out, but they have been remodeled and feel very new. Bed was comfortable (my husband is a huge bed critic too), kitchen has a good size fridge and freezer(not full size but not a mini fridge) which I appreciate since i usually travel with food and drinks, it's nice to be able to store them and re-freeze ice packs, etc. The common areas seem to be new as well, and there were games and books by the fireplace, a nice outdoor grill, sitting area by an outdoor gas fire feature. Breakfast had a really good variety, and was fresh. The pool area was a really nice size, went from 3 ft to 5 ft deep. Good size hot tub, could easily accommodate 8 adults. Situated on the edge of the mall area, you could easily walk to restaurants and shopping, or Starbucks a few blocks away. Loved everything about this hotel and will definitely stay again when I'm in the area!"
