Reviews
"A one-of-a-kind building"
"This venue was able to accommodate a 200-250 guest wedding with plenty of room for dance performances on the main floor. The outdoor patio was spacious enough for several cocktail tables and a bar."
"Love this place! Lots of community events happening here, including contra dancing almost every Sunday night, and Swing Dance classes other nights of the week. There was even a comedy show last night!"
"Historic indeed. The ballroom floor hosts dancing routinely both for weddings and regular community events. The bouncy floor won't give on you and makes dancing of any style really fun. It looks a little more like a gymnasium than a ballroom but it makes for good time all the same."
"There are many things about this fine old building to enjoy, but for aficionados of social dancing, like square dancing, or contra dancing, first and foremost, the sprungwood flooring in the dancehall is a rare and wonderful thing! This aspect of this venue puts it head and shoulders above its competitors as a dance destination. Hours of peppy stepping, and no shin splints, ah, what a subtle bounty of goodness! The ample space of the physical layout, the solid, well-maintained historical building, and proximity to the exciting main drag in Santa Barbara make this a uniquely desirable social dance venue in a lovely city. Of special interest to contra dancers in the western USA, is the annual Harvest Moon contra dance weekend in October, it is a world class contra event in a unique venue, and the sprungwood flooring is the icing on the cake."
