"To start I am not one to leave bad reviews online, but this incident took a lot out of me where I felt the need to share this ridiculous situation that took place with an employee at JC global Insurance. I had been a customer for years with this agency, I had purchased a new vehicle this June and as usual emailed my direct agent for a vehicle change on my auto policy, for 3 months I did not hear back from my agent. I followed up a couple times requesting my new policy or some acknowledgment that the change will be made. I was willing to be patient while this was a big inconvenience to me, however the DMV sent me a notice to suspend my license due to there being no insurance on my new vehicle. With this said, I had called JC Global, and my agent Sophia Yoon had answered on the first ring. She started off with a terrible attitude, advising me that I would not be able to make a change to my policy due to not being the head policy holder (which being my dad) and that this practice would be “illegal”. This was unusual to me, since she had made changes for me in the past and directly sent a copy of my policy to my email. She hung up and I decided to look through my emails to see if I have been mistaken. There were in total a couple times where she had directly sent me my policy and made changes for me, I had all the right to do so, the title of my car was under my name, and I was a policy user on the account as well. I decided to call her back, once I did, she started off the phone call with a terrible attitude, I tried to brush it off and stated that she had sent me my policy before and questioned if it was truly illegal for me to make/ obtain policy changes to my account because I am not the head policy holder. She then screamed through the phone stating “what are you trying to do here? “What do you want from me?” I was baffled. I had never come across a customer support agent so unhinged at a single question. She slammed the phone on me and continued to email my dad (the head policy holder) about the terrible phone call she had with me. We are both grown adults where she should know better not to go tattle tale. My dad was also blown away at how unprofessional this agent was being. While on a lengthy email thread, I had repeated the narrative of the phone call and CC’d the insurance agency’s CEO. He apologized and offered to make things right. If anyone decides to go with this insurance agency, I highly advise not to work with Sophia Yoon. She is unprofessional and absolutely insane. I had never had anyone yell at me in that manner and especially coming from a consumer standpoint this was uncalled for. I would like to point out that this is my first review as I have never experienced anything like this before. I have been using this insurance for several years and I contacted them 3-4 months ago about renewing my car after changing cars, but there was no response. One day, I received a call from the DMV saying my license was being suspended because my car was not insured. The next day, I called the insurance company just in time for them to open. Sophia, who works as an underwriter at JC Global Insurance, said that although my name is on the insurance, she cannot legally receive my insurance information because I am not the policy holder. So I agreed and hung up. While searching through emails and looking for insurance information, I saw that Sophia had sent insurance information directly to me in the past, so I called again. Sophia immediately screamed at me to stop asking what I was doing. On that day, Sophia gossiped about me and said untrue things to my other family members registered with the insurance without my knowledge. How can someone working in the service industry be so vicious? As a consumer, I experienced this ridiculous thing and looked for this insurance company to leave a review for an American company called better business bureau. Even though this insurance company has been in operation for 12 years, it was not registered with the Better Business Bureau. The Better Business Bureau is a company that allows consumers to submit circumstances and evidence to the company based on their complaints and experiences, and can also take legal action. As a business owner, it is the most basic and fundamental thing that can give consumers confidence in the company, but after experiencing something like this, I think I understand why even that was not done. We recommend that you look for insurance companies registered with other BBB and choose an insurance company that will treat you fairly if you experience something like this, and one that respects and understands that customer complaints are damaging to the company's image."
