"Mental health worker hung up on me for me swearing. They shouldn’t even be working there if they can’t handle words, especially as mental healthcare “specialists”"

"How on Earth did this hospital get the "Best VA" in the nation?!? The HUD-VASH program is abysmally poor! The mental health clinicians, that I have encountered, are lackluster! Focused and consistent therapeutic modalities are weeks, if not months away from happening. If at all. The shelters and transitional housing options are unsat, unclean and unsavory. No wonder so many veterans in the "good ole USA" take themselves out every day... Humans certainly are not perfect and yet there is incredible room for improvement. Oh, and the cafeteria? Ha! It's pathetic!! Veterans deserve a lot better!! Especially the wounded soldiers that sacrificed their souls and bodies for a "greater good"!!! Make your voices heard through Patient Advocacy (which may often be useless), the "Senators" (which will be more useless), the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and going directly through the hospital chain of command. Good luck!!"

"The staff in the infusion department are so kind and helpful! I wasn't sure where I needed to go, and one of the receptionists got up and walked with me and showed me the way. Big thumbs up to my nurse, Justin! You rock! Thanks for making my hospital stay feel more like a vacation lol. I was in and out with no problem. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience as a patient there."

"This VA Hospital is laid out like something from the movie Inception. All clinics have names, just not the the name of what it actually is. So arrive early, expect to be lost, and confused as to why PTSD exists, really.... ask the front door person where mental health is located, and watch the look of confusion on their face, especially if it's on the 3rd floor across the sky bridge(and no sign for sky bridge) Best of Luck. PS. Kevin thank you for the help. And this VA is phenomenal, as are most all VA hospitals, the Phoenix AZ, ER doctor found found a piece of something about the size of a grain of sand in my spine striking the main nerve in my arm, so its the doctor not the hospital, some are are great, some not so much, yet any doctor working at the VA Big Kudos! Semper Fi."

"Hubby been in here for extended stays for 2 years now & is currently a patient. We have been amazed at Caring Staff, Nurses, Doctors everyone we encounter 5 stars or more. Dr. Daniele & Dr.Kurter, Dr. Jim & all we have been served by are caring, kind, knowledgeable & go out of their way to help us, explain & plan with us. Really I could write chapters on how Awesome this VA hospital is. I just read they are #1 in the nation one of the few with overall 5 star ratings out of 4500 VA hospitals. Husband has spent months in there as they try to save his toes or foot. They provide home care, supplies equipment anything to help. Oh WOW I wish I had care like this. It isn't hard to find your way around just ask anyone everyone is happy & helpful. Thank you VA Hospital of Madison for your outstanding care to my VET the past couple years. I know you will send him home when he is safe & on the mend. I just love the Doctors here & everyone Really. Also have to mention the ER is so responsive, fast, boy they have it down. They could teach our local hospitals so much. Hats off to ER, Podiatry, Vascular, Medicine & Pharmacy Teams just EVERYONE really. Your hard work is amazing & so noticed we are grateful."
