Reviews of Chippewa Area History Center
"Built in 2020, this facility is large and well kept. This is a great place for kids since there are a lot of interactive exhibits and a scavenger hunt. Adults will also enjoy the variety of history from Native American culture to the fur trade to the wars. The volunteers were very kind and it was a good price for what all was inside. I would go again."
"Beautiful new facility. Nice look at history of Chippewa Falls. Disappointed did not see any exhibits related to hunting, lots of fishing, but no hunting."
"Great history of Chippewa Falls and the Chippewa Valley region. The way they use quotes from those who built the area adds to the already fascinating displays. Look for an extensive history on the lumber era (including tools, methods used to cut and haul trees, heavy equipment, etc.), business leaders, the Northern Wisconsin Colony (now Center), fur trading, Native Americans, the Northern Wisconsin State Fair, and our military heroes, including a nice feature about Old Abe. They have a nice gift shop and reference library also. Admission is reasonable, and parking is free."
"I'm super excited that this is finally open! I'm so glad that all of these wonderful collections actually have a home now. Take time to visit when you're in Chippewa Falls."
"Beautiful building and a great start to showcasing the history of our area. Looks like there is a lot more to come!"
