"I felt safe in the unit! I met many many great friends and people. I was excited to leave but also sad because of the many connections I made there. Everyone is very sweet. I am grateful to have met the nurses that work there like Patrick and Carla, etc"

"If I could leave a negative review I would! Every aspect of care and treatment in this place was a joke! They will completely not involve parents or ask important questions like allergies for example they will just order an epi pen… and bill you for it. Or they won’t give you any updates on treatment or involvement. Completely ignore parents concerns, none of the staff should be working in mental health. Locking my kid in a room and giving her worksheets is a joke excuse for treatment. And the chastising the staff was to me when I was begging for my kid to get professional help. But nope less than 24 hr notice of discharge and we live 4 hours away I have 3 other children in school and no village to help me to care for and or make arrangements. Before 7 am and she’s already being hostile in the home. I’m still scared for my children and my self and husband and other kids at school. She has threatened to kill. But nobody seems to take any of her actions or behaviors seriously! Or what I’m telling them as the adult and parent in the situation. Absolute joke this place is!!! Better off just waiting for another bed to open some place else!!!! Flabbergasted this is the MAYO clinic!!!! DONT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!!"

"My stay there was terrifying the first night, but everything else was so peaceful. It was truly a time I could rest, and all of the nurses were so incredibly kind. They weren’t just there to keep me alive, but there to connect and act as friends. I reminisce about my stay there often, and would do anything to go back and thank all the nurses there. "So I have not personally gone there myself, but I do not recommend!! Stay clear! My mother had went in there, and they did some kind of test thing or another, and now her brain is forgetting things from only days ago somethings only hours ago. She doesn’t remember half of my friends name or even what they look like. She doesn’t remember her favorite stores, movies, music, etc. It’s now been a couple months since she’s been, and her memory doesn’t seem to be any better if anything worse! They barely helped with what she went in for. If anything I feel like it was just kinda pushed to the side! She says the nurses or whatever were nice to her so I’m glad about that. That saying I’m just incredibly angry with them."

"The staff doesn’t listen to the patient or their family members. My son had taken out the metal piece of his mask, and cut his arm with it. I was told to treat it with a neutral state of mind. He also drew a picture of a person with a gun in one hand, a knife in the other, and it said “I want to kill myself.” I brought this to the staffs attention and was told they encourage patients to draw out their feelings. Even after these two incidents, they were going to release him after three days. I saved them the time and took him home after two. If you want serious help, I would not recommend this place!!!"
