"Great place to golf if you're a member or like me. Have a friend that is nice enough to bring me along. Appreciate you, D tremendously. Beautiful fun challenging course."
"I’ve hosted a Christmas party at Oakhurst for years and have always been pleased with the service, food, and pleasant staff. This year was no exception. My family always has a fabulous time at this party and we look forward to this party every year as it’s the only time many of us see one another. Ashley did a wonderful job coordinating the event and the other six who served drinks and food did a great job. I would definitely recommend Oakhurst Country Club."
"My daughters wedding took place here recently and was not what we were promised. We had a successful rehearsal the day before with Ashley (new event Director) and she stated she would be 100% available to us for any concerns we had throughout the wedding day, her entire goal for the day was to make sure things run smoothly. Well they did not. I had asked at rehearsal to modify the seating at the ceremony site from 5 chairs per row on each side to 6 due to family’s needs and that had yet to be done upon arrival. Arriving in the bridal suite there was a table with our small, food bites/mimosas, however there were no plates, napkins or waters which she had assured us there would be. After getting all our supplies in the room I went to locate Ashley to ask her if she could bring the missing items but could not locate her anywhere in the building. Went to her office downstairs on 3 separate occasions over the course of two hours until finally the accountant asked if there was something she could help me with. I asked for Ashley and was told she did not know where she was, whether she was offsite or not but that she would contact her. I asked if she was there and she said she did not know. By this time it was almost 2pm. and the chairs that were supposed to have been moved at the ceremony site were not, so I took it upon myself to go ahead and move them because the arrival time of guests was 3pm. A very short time later Ashley came into the bridal suite and stated “are you looking for me?” I said yes, I have been for 2 hours and gave her my requests and she proceeded to tell me she was in a meeting with the general manager. Don’t tell someone you are going to be available the entire time of their event and then disappear for hours and have no coverage. A short time later as we were getting ready for the ceremony my daughter watched her Octagon fully decorated with white draping and her flower spray tumble over. This Octagon was not what we were originally promised when we decided on your venue, she had been promised the white arbor but due to it being destroyed during a prior storm event they had replaced it with this Octagon so we sufficed and had full draping applied to make it what she envisioned. Now her beautiful spray flowers that we paid good money for had been crushed with the Octagon falling over on them. I again went looking for Ashley to inform her and after several minutes found her. She couldn’t believe it had fallen. She did go out with a couple of male assistants to pick it up and dust off the white draping and try to fix the flowers. It was then secured with bean bags. Just glad my daughter and her fiance were not standing there when it tumbled over because it would have been right on them causing injury I am sure. . Now onto the after party… The wedding took place from 4:15p until 4:45p (a 15 minute delay) so we did not get into the reception until 4:50p and were to have an hour of hosted cocktail hour. Well at 5:30p partygoers were told that cocktail hour was over and they could purchase any and all drinks. This is not what we paid for. Dinner was wonderful but not one table was cleaned of any dinnerware. When it came time for cutting the cake the bride and groom did not have cake cutting materials available as previously requested to cut the cake. We had to have waitstaff retrieve it from the kitchen. The DJ announced that the cake would be cut in the back and then brought out to the tables in a few minutes. Well a short time later no guests had cake yet. After the cake was cut it was brought out to the back table and no one even knew. As of 9p when we departed the venue, not one table had been cleared of meal/appetizer dinnerware from the guest tables which was completely unacceptable, we would have gotten better wait service from a 3 star restaurant- not a venue that cost almost $18,000. I can not in good conscience recommend this venue to any friends or family with the service we received and the price that was paid for promises that went undelivered."
"This is purely a golf course and related facilities review. Being a private course I was expecting the condition to reflect that. The staff in the pro-shop were nice. The driving range and practices areas are pretty good, and the course itself is challenging. There are some nice views and scenery as the course moves through the hills but it certainly needs some work. They’re focused on updating the bunkers at the moment, which is a much needed change. The fairways and rough are like any average municipal but the greens take it up a notch. Fair speed, consistent throughout the course and in good condition. I have a friend that’s a member so I’ve played a few times on a weekday afternoon for $60. Given the course condition I’m not sure the price is justified. However, every time I’ve played we’ve been one of very few people out there, so the pace of play is as good as you could hope for. Overall, I think they’re doing a lot of good work to bring the course back to life, so we’ll see how it shapes up over time. If they get it back to true country club condition, this could be a gem."
"Great golf course with beautiful views of Mount Diablo. This is a private club, so inquire for membership info."
