Reviews of Children's Minnesota - St. Paul Clinic
"The nurses in the nicu can be gossipers. Be careful being opened to these nurses sometimes. They'll judge you for no reason. Overall I have some good experience for appointments and all."
"The staff was amazing and very friendly. They showed great empathy towards our son and and made him feel very comfortable. This was all at 2:30am and still very friendly and caring. The children's emergency part of the hospital is where we went and it was a very comfortable and an amazing setting. The hospital is very clean looking and well presented. It seems to be fairly new looking and very children friendly. The wait was not long. Thank you again to the staff and doctor for everything. Todish family"
"Brought my daughter in to ER tonight. We were back in a room before we even had time to sit down. The nurses and Dr were amazing. We've had our fair share of ER visits and this place was by far the best. It's hard having sick kids and sitting in an ER but being here made it much easier. The nurses and dr were so sweet and really took time to make my daughter comfortable instead of just jumping into doing their doctoring. She didn't even want to leave when it was time to go! Thank you all who helped us tonight!"
"We have been to the St. Paul location a few times (broken this, split that). My son had a very bad split lip. While the staff was very friendly, I am disappointed with the results. I asked for a plastic surgeon and was told I'd have to wait for many, many hours. I didn't want to make it worse (or dry up) by waiting but felt pressured to 'get it done.' The doctor who came was very nice and sewed up part of his lip but said that she wasn't going to sew into the mouth because that would heal without sutures. Unfortunately, it healed with a large lump of scar tissue which hangs down below his natural lip line. It looks strange and sometimes bothers him. Is he dead? no. Is he disfigured? no. But I wish I pushed harder for a plastic surgeon and I wish there was way to give the doctor feedback, so maybe she reconsiders her technique."
"Both of my boys were delivered early here and had to stay in the NICU. The staff is amazing. The nurses cared so much, not only for my boys but also for my husband and me. There is a beautiful indoor area for siblings to play in which was a huge help when my younger son was born in October. There is also an awesome family resource center that came in so helpful with faxing important paperwork, going on a computer to do research, find magazines to read and even free coffee, hot chocolate and tea (which came in helpful to a new mom caring for a 4 year old and a baby in the NICU). They provide 1 free meal a day for nursing moms of babies in the NICU, which is so helpful, passes to help with the cost of parking, and excellent support from the social workers. Even the housekeepers and cafeteria staff were amazingly kind and pleasant. I remember one gentleman in particular in the cafeteria who would always ask how my baby was doing when I would get my meal. Just that simple act would warm my heart. In my opinion this is the only place I would ever bring my child. Thank you Children's for taking such good care of my boys."
