"I wanted to share a detailed review of Mayo Clinic system in Red Wing. I have been going here now for over a year due to a chronic health condition and for managing depression and anxiety related to my condition. I've encountered a lot of different doctors, nurses and specialists here at this location as well as in Rochester. Primary care here is ok, and they have done an OK job helping me manage pain and my condition. At times, I have felt my concerns were not taken seriously which required more visits to address the issues. I've also seen Gastroenterology (Dr. Farrar and Jackie) - they are amazing! By far the best care I've received at this clinic was from these two doctors. The problem I have is with there psychology and psychiatry dept. With a clinic this big, they need more specialists to help people. You have one psychiatrist, who also, mind you, won't work with you on a long-term basis and won't respond to requests in a timely manner via portal. I pulled my phycology and psychiatry care from here because of this. I understand these are difficult times for everyone, however, this clinic needs more staff in this area and staff that will work with you on a long-term basis. Don't see Dr. Proctor, find anyone else. His communication is poor and honestly he wasn't very sympathetic at all during my appointment with him. He prescribed me new medication that he didn't explain the pros and cons of and just said this will make you better in a few week. Well, It made me super sick. I know these meds vary from person to person, but he didn't take into account my other medical issues. Very disappointed and glad I found someone else who was willing to listen to my concerns and got me in right away."

"I have never waited so long in an ER, and it seems to be the normal here. I only come here when I absolutely need to and I have never waited less than 2 hours to be seen here. Recently I took my mother in to be seen and they plopped us in the hallway for 3 hours with her in a hospital gown when there were 3 open rooms just down the hall. Absolutely ridiculous."

"I was in the E/R and people waited several hours to be seen. I watched people drip blood and get sick the whole time. Mayo Rochester, MN and Cleveland, Ohio are AMAZING. Too bad the mediocrity of corporate Mayo buys all these small town hospitals and uses them for $$. And we suffer. Ask around, research online. Mayo Red Wing is a place to avoid. GREAT DR.’s IF you can get through the corporate bureaucracy. Best of luck PS: they retaliate for honest feedback. Much easier than resolving issues concerning competency. I don’t want to hear about illegal migrants destroying your financials. Like … EVER!!!!"

"I was supposed to have surgery done and they canceled my appointment without even informing me. I called the night before to find out what time to arrive. And found out that I wasn't even on The schedule. It's been almost 2 months, and they still haven't gotten back to me. To explain why they canceled it or to reschedule it, it is totally unacceptable."

"I've typically had..'not great' experiences at hospitals, this one included. But when I had medical issue today, the wait time was less than 20 minutes in urgent care as well as my same day appointment at the clinic. I was seen by Dr. Sanford, he was very professional and down to earth, I felt at ease for the first time ever in a hospital environment. Will request this Dr on my next visit and my experience today was a positive one."
