"Be aware of Children's billing practices. They claim to take Health Insurance but they bill everything as Outpatient. Thus, they charge like an ER. Your bill will be outrageous and you will be none the wiser. This must have been a change in the past few years because previously it was not this way. They come across as willing to help people but instead they are like all corporate greed hospitals. I will definitely be looking for a different Endocrinologist."
"We were referred to the Woodbury location by our main provider . The scheduling process was outstanding as well as the check in once we arrived. The nursing staff was okay, although not the most patient with a 14 month old who doesn’t sit still on a scale. Not big deal there. Dr. Doan was absolutely amazing. He listened to all our concerns and explained in detail what our child’s condition could or could not be. He listed all the different tests they were going to run on our child and the waiting times for the results. Overall it was a great thorough visit and the other doctor who was with him , she was amazing with our child. After the visit when it was time for blood work , that’s when things went downhill. Two nurses came in and took turns to find the vein. After some time of talking to each other they turned around and said “ we are going to have to send you to the St. Paul location because they have the right equipment there to do this. They have special equipment there. “. Not sure what that meant by that, since once we got to the St. Paul location, there was no special equipment or staff for all that matters. I’ll skip the pain that was the check in process and got straight to the pain that was the labs. Out of 3 people, not one of them was able to get blood from our child. They were holding her down and one staff member was rolling her eyes and getting visibly annoyed because my child would kick or move her legs. You’d think they know by now working at a children’s hospital. They poked her no less than 5 times. Then they asked us if we wanted to reschedule . At that point we asked to have someone else try one more time. The last staff member who tried to get blood was truly an angel. She was the most gentle and calm person we encountered that day at the hospital. She calmly and reassuringly talked to our child the entire time and got the blood needed for the labs. Our child came home with bruising from all the poking and petechiae from the harsh way the tourniquet was tightened and was visibly agitated for the whole day. Overall probably the worst experience at a children’s hospital."
"The nurse staff was nice and welcoming. But felt that Nicole Banick talked down to us and did not listen well to our concerns. On the other hand, she was great with our son. We'd recommend Dr. Karlen at Midwest ENT instead."
"Love the staff! They are so kind and helpful. We personally see Jacqui & Megan and are so thankful for them! They listen to our concerns, are very understanding and go above and beyond! They have taught and helped my daughter so much!"
"Thanks to the Nurse and the ladies at the front desk for all your help. I took away a star bebecau I didn't like 2 comments the Doctor made. We were having an off day, we forgot our bag, my car started a ting up on the way to the appointment and an upset toddler. I wish she were more understanding instead of assuming. I'll just say maybe she was having an off day too. I'll leave it at that as long as we never have to see her again."
