Reviews
"It’s a nice place to visit if you’re around the area, its free just like parking is. I went during the weekend so there were a ton of cars parked and we had to walk just to get there. The view from that spot is nice and calm. According to the info i read it says the following information: The citizens of Yokohama, Japan presented the Friendship Bell to San Diego in May 1958 as part of the Centennial Celebration of formal relations between that country and the United States. It also served to mark the establishment of the sister city relationship between San Diego and Yokohama, which was the first such affiliation on the West Coast. The large bronze bell housed in a pagoda structure was designed by artist Masahiko Katori."
"Just okay. Although the island is beautiful to spend a day."
"Honestly, i don’t know if it was good timing but I came here and I thought this was a beautiful/peaceful place since living in San Diego for a year now. The sailboats were out, the birds were chirping and my partner was freezing to death! -Best Saturday walk ever"
"Very majestic! Beautiful location to walk, sit, and watch the sunset. We were staying at the nearby resort and I wasn’t sure what I was looking at until I got closer. Very happy I did. Love to hear the story of sister cities continents away. Wish we had rung the bell!"
