Reviews of Westfields Hospital
"Case manager and social worker don’t do their jobs and listen to patients real family. Only listens someone that claims to be a significant other. I have so much more to say but I’ll zip it."
"On 9 January I brought my elderly mother to the ER from Deerfiels around 4pm. The first ER doctor was awesome as was Ashley the ER nurse and Brett the imaging person, 5 STARS to them 3. The doctor that came in to releave the first doctor failed to once take the time to talk with us about what was happening. What I was told is "he did not have time to talk to us". And when they came to transport my mother to Lakeview in Stillwater at 10:30pm he had well over 3 hours to atleast one time come in and talk to us. I don't understand the entitled behavior of this doctor. Patients are the customer are they not? ER trips are not cheap and the money we pay entitles Patients to appreciate time form the medical professionals. Again the above named medical professionals were great, unfortunately it is not their job to explain what the doctors plans and findings are. I expect more out of Westfield then what we dealt with last night"
"I've had a great experience here with several primary care doctors. I've had a mediocre experience with the ER, though that is generally staffed by rotating people from different locations. I've had limited experience with urgent care, but it has been good. Nursing and laboratory staff have always been helpful, caring and kind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend going here for anyone who lives locally."
"Nice doctors and staff, but it is a little irritating that if you show up seven minutes late for your appointment, they cancel it and make you reschedule. Taking off work and driving over an hour to get there when usually you sit 15 to 20 minutes waiting for the doctor. I could understand if you’re notoriously late or don’t show up."
"Just had an operation today. I received two phone calls on different days leading up to the operation to give me info on how to prepare. The information was stuff like when to stop eating/drinking, what meds to avoid, etc. At my pre-op, I asked my doctor about the eating restrictions I was given just to double check. Turns out, the instructions I got on the phone were not correct. If I hadn't asked my doctor, I would've had too much liquids before my surgery and would've had to cancel it. On my operation day, the nurse told me I had to remove my jewelry(ear lobe rings and a septum ring) and that I should've been informed of that before showing up. I was already strapped into the IV and had a cuff on the other arm, plus the style of jewelery I had on is very difficult to remove under normal circumstances. I couldn't get my jewelry out and the nurse was kind of irritated with me about it. The anesthesiologist came in and said it would be okay if I kept my jewelry in. She also confirmed again that I should've been told over the phone in advance to remove my jewelry. That was a whole lot of stress right before my surgery! Ultimately, surgery was smooth and good but the preparation was kind of nightmarish due to the failure of the staff who were supposed to supply the correct information over the phone."
