Reviews of Gilman Ranch Museum
"Great little stagecoach stop to explore. A wealth of local history for the San Gorgonio Pass. The staff are top notch. If hiking on the trail towards the north, be mindful of some pitbull dogs that the house on top of the hill has. They run loose down the hill side and can be a concern."
"I caught their County of Riverside Open Door Event where you can go visit the Historical places free in 1 day. I have been to Gilman for many events but this was new and the ranch was different. Free stagecoach rides, which usually were $10 a person. Two guides in museum helping to answer questions. Old stagecoach building is protected in an enclosure definitely worth the trip. Cahuilla exhibit inside museum and metates outside near trail."
"They had an open entry today. Took my grandson and met friends there with their grandson. Loved the stagecoach ride.. Can't imagine a cross-country trip in one of those. They had a few activities for the kids, which was fun. Loved the tour of the house. A great great granddaughter was present and fun to talk to. How wonderful to be a part of such a family legacy. The wagon barn was very interesting. Didn't know Studebaker made wagons before cars. Restrooms were clean and buildings were air conditioned, which was nice because it was a really warm day. I wish we had been able to walk the back pathway to the springs., but we were pressed for time. Some panning for gold and face painting and a bouncehouse. It was nice. I always love t h e simple places that remind us how life was."
"WESTERN DAYS in Banning at Gilman Ranch. First time! Interesting history dating back to early 1800 of a family owned ranch and the Butterfield Stage Coach route stop. Reenactments, crafts for kids and museum."
"Beautiful historical ranch and museum, lovely docent tours, amazing place to take the family for a day trip!"
