Tall Pines Resort

"Tall Pines is an old fashioned bar and resort (in a good way!) with cabins on Nelson Lake near Hayward Wisconsin. Friday fish fry is great... but be ready to have a couple beverages while waiting for a table!"

"We enjoyed our stay at Tall Pines. Angie and Mike were very nice and accommodating. The kitchens had everything that we needed and then some. The food was amazing and portions were huge. I would definitely recommend this resort!"

"Went here looking for some place new for dinner around the area. Service was good, although it seemed to be a little while to get our food. It was a little more casual than what we were expecting but the atmosphere was lively. I had the Italian beef & cheese sandwich as they were touting their Chicago ties with their Cub propaganda on the walls and it looked absolutely fantastic when it came out. However, the meat was very dry and bland. No peppers or seasonings on the beef. Could have used some giardiniera or something. It just kinda felt like it was cooked in a broiler oven or something, and I actually had to put some ketchup on it to get it down. The others I was with seemed to enjoy their meals as they had the chicken dinner, but it certainly wasn't outstanding. I don't expect much from anything having to do with Chicago but Italian beef is something that actually should be good when labeled so."
