Westwind Resort

"Our family gathers every other year this time at the Westwind. We will be returning in 2024. The beach and lake were amazing. Our host Bob was wonderful, very accommodating and not at all intrusive. We rented the pantoon for the week - a must recommendation - fit the 12 of us perfectly. Cabins are a little dated but clean. Each one has a covered porch and comfortable patio set each facing lake. Picnic tables, lawn chairs, lots of charcoal grills, canoes, paddleboats, swim raft and benches surrounding campfire. There was a large grassy area between our 4 cabins to play games. Our family had a great time!"

"The owner comes over every 5 seconds to bother you especially during meals. Half the stoves don’t work, there’s mice, the cleaning lady does nothing and still asks for tips. Great view but the owner is too cheap to keep up w the place"

"I have been going here for 62 years. I have known all the owners. They were all good but Bob is the BEST! Westwind isnt meant to be an all inclusive secured fortress vacation. It is like being able to go to the beach every day and enjoying the beauty of Lake Namakogan. The cabins are supposed to be rustic housekeeping cabins, not a suite at the Ritz. You are not supposed to be in the cabin anyway, you should be out on the Lake! Think about this for rustic...the first 3 years that I when to Westwind (1958 thru 1960) there were no bathrooms, just an outhouse, no shower. There was a pump at the kitchen sink where you could pump cold water into a pan to heat on the wood stove that doubled as a heater. Then my Grandmother would make the best bacon and pancakes...on the wood stove. There was no actual range. Westwinds beautiful sand beach out weighs anything negative you may think about the rustic cabins. Go for a swim Take a boat ride Go water boarding Get an inter tube and just float Rent a boat and ski Sit on the beach and enjoy the beauty Westwind is meant to be a place to hang out while you enjoy the splendor of Lake Namakogan."

"Love this place, just wish the mattresses were decent. The resort has been quiet, and it is definitely a family place. People go to bed early, and it's nice and quiet. (of course that may not always be the case but I think Bob tries to keep it that way) overall, it's a nice place. Super small bedrooms and outdated cabins but if you're not picky this place is great. There isn't a main office/shop unlike most resorts, so make sure you get everything in town."
