"I beg of you, go to Fairview in hibbing rather than this place. I was released by Dr. Abby Frederickson from the hospital while still threatening suicide and still psychotic and writing a suicide note which I was humiliated for. The doctor even told my parents that I might hurt myself after being released which is something a parent should never be told. Two weeks later, I was still not functioning and still in a state of psychosis and took a lethal amount of tylenol to which I had to be admitted to a different psychiatric hospital. This was all due to the fact that that doctor did not believe me when I said that the delusions and hallucinations I was having were real to me and scared me more than anything, enough to even take my own life. I beg of you, from my own experience, the lovely folks at fairview hospital in hibbing will make sure that you get back on your feet. Please watch out for yourself or a loved one and be safe."
"I had a minor surgical procedure. The room I was in prior to surgery was filthy- dust bunnies, dirty walls and floors. Then, in the pre-op room, my nurse came back from lunch and loudly proclaimed she wish she would have went home after lunch and she had no idea what was going on. When I told her she wasn’t helping my confidence she stayed, “I’m just joking.” The nurses were LOUD with lots of side chatter. There was zero regard for HIPAA privacy and I knew the name and surgery of every other person in the waiting bay. Most disturbing was the fact that my RN was wearing multiple rings and bracelets (germ breeders) and I didn’t see her sanitize or wash her hands prior to hooking up my IV. She lost her IPAD stylus in my bed and placed it back in her pocket to use with other surgery patients. There didn’t seem to be much regard for sanitation despite it being a pre op situation. Scary and irresponsible My doctor and anesthesia doctor and nurse were great though and compassionately walked me through their steps."
"Very happy with our experience. My 1 year old had bilateral ear tubes placed and the nurses and doctor (Rhodes) were all extremely child-friendly. My daughter was given crayons and a color book and my husband was allowed to go back with her to surgery until she was asleep. Would 100% recommend."
"I went there to to take my grandpa off life support. Some of the nurses where rude and didn’t know what they were talking about but there was one nurse named Robin she was amazing I will never forget her so thank you to her. All in all it is a very good hospital with some very good staff and some not so good staff."
"My husband was scheduled for day surgery today. Free parking...all you need to do is take the free card, in your hospital pack, and place it on your car's dash. Parking can be tight but ample. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They are not afraid to answer questions. Our daughter was allowed to bring her service dog. In the TV..refreshments..room is a screen that confidentially informs the family where their loved one is..between pre-op, surgery, recovery, room, going home. It is greatly appreciated and used. People are stepping inside the room constantly checking on the screen."
