Reviews of Toddler Town
"We’ve had a wonderful experience at Toddler Town. Our daughter has been there since she has been 3 months old and is now 3.5 years old . All of her teachers have been professional, compassionate, and understanding. Any questions we’ve had have been answered, and we’ve been treated with professionalism. She can’t wait to go to school everyday, and says she loves her teachers and friends. We highly recommend this place, and we will be sad when she will be leaving to go to school someday! They feel like family as well as they know her, and share how her mannerisms and day is each day!"
"I was on a walk next to the toddler town with my family. When I heard a caregiver screaming at the kid for swinging on a toy. And I feel awful for that child because they’re not even able to fully understand what happened and can’t go home and tell their parent what happened. I’ve been babysitting kids for years and one thing is you don’t scream at a child like that caregiver did. I do get that they might get overwhelmed with having to take care of so many kids but it doesn’t give them a good enough reason for yelling at the poor child."
"Was on tour, I saw a baby in a baby swing with a blanket over his face Also , a small tot being scolded as he ate, he cried. The caregivers didnt acknowledge me, they make $10 an hour so I guess they dont feel they need to make an effort! I thought the owner was odd, Im sure all about money money! I don't like daycare facility's, never been impressed! Krm"
"As a parent who has absolutely loved past schools and teachers while living in another area, Toddler Town was not only disappointing but concerning enough to remove our pre-school age child and cancel the spot reserved for our infant. Ultimately there were several things that drove us away, even after providing feedback and making genuine attempts to foster a more heathy parent-teacher relationship. There was a true lack of insight, unprofessionalism, and as harsh as it sounds, knowledge around the importance of positive language and interactions with not only the parents but most importantly the kids. If I had to narrow down the things that I think parents should be aware of, it would include 1) the teachers need to learn new skills for redirecting and promoting better behaviors for kids who are having trouble listening or having a hard day. It was far too often we observed yelling, talking down to, shaming, and sort of "cold" attitudes. 2) my child had several months where she would come home and play "teacher" with her dolls, and model the behavior she experienced at Toddler Town (which we saw first hand). This included yelling, pointing, timeouts, using words that labeled her dolls as naughty and bad, etc. She often said to use "I don't like it when Ms. XXX yells at everyone. Or, "I had a bad day because Ms. XXX was mad at us." 3) Nap time with blaring music for 2.5 hours is inappropriate for kids over 3 years old. My nearly 5 year old hasn't napped in 2 years, so is forced to lay on a cot quietly for that long, without any option to play quietly elsewhere, or read books. Teacher's often used this time to sit on their phones and take a break. This is not reasonable and several other schools and providers agree. This is not kindergarten preparedness at all. We feel lucky to have gotten into another school after a 4-month wait list. It's a great sign when you are so full, you can't accept new enrollments until kids graduate. At Toddler Town, they seem to have a difficult time finding staff or children to have a fully operating business and this is at no surprise. I think one of the saddest things as a parent, was our daughter's last days there. Not a single teacher, director, or person ever said anything to us on drop off or pickup to acknowledge this was her last day. With a full 2-week notice, no one event asked where we were going, or why we were leaving. For a family who brought gifts and cards, and treats multiple times to acknowledge the teachers and holidays, and a little girl who doesn't have any behavior problems whatsoever (which shouldn't even matter) - it broke my heart to be treated that way, and more than anything that she had a very sad time in her life where she would beg not to go back to school. With just a few weeks into her new school, she begs to stay all day long, and talks about how excited she is to go back. My only regret is that we didn't get her out sooner. I would never recommend Toddler Town to any parent or teacher as a place of employment. Sometimes you don't know what you don't know and we'll leave it at that."
"Beautiful center, amazing staff, and wonderful director. Both my 5 year old and 1 1/2 year old go to Toddler Town and love it. I like being able to bring my kids in everyday and know they are safe and being well cared for. Amazing place to bring your kid!!"
