Reviews of Lincoln Park Children and Families Collaborative
"My nephew loved being here! He always had a good day and loved playing with the other kids! Every time I visit they are all having a good time. Also, they provide a wonderful service to those who may not be able to afford regular daycare rates. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!"
"I love the Grocery Give Away event. I'm able to get food and beverages to help get me through the month. Thank you!"
"BEWARE: I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE SEND THEIR CHILD TO THIS DAYCARE. It was the worst daycare I've ever seen. They have all the children in one room, and the room is over 80 degrees. My son was sweating so bad all his clothes were soaking wet. He was incredibly uncomfortable. They use phones as babysitters rather than doing activities with the children. I don't know how this place has a 4 star rating on Parent Aware. They don't have many structured activities with the kids. They have free play most of the day, besides when they eat and sleep. They don't give the children enough food to eat. My 4 year old son was given a 1/4 of a grilled cheese sandwich, a little bit of green beans, pineapple bits, and 1/4 cup of milk to start out with. He was allowed to have more, but the most he was given was 3/4 of a sandwich because they didn't have any more to give him. My son can eat at least 1 sandwich. Sometimes, he even eats 2. I don't expect them to feed him 2, but he didn't even get 1 full sandwich. He was hungry and super hot. Thus, he wasn't behaving the best, so they sent him home and told me he wasn't allowed back at the daycare. It was his first day at a new daycare, and it takes him time to acclimate to new environments, but he was expected to behave perfectly on his first day."
"The racial Injustice going on in this organization, is purely disgusting. Colored members of the work groups felt discriminated against by other attendees. Which is completely intolerable behavior. People should be treated equally no matter what they look like."
"This has been such a lifesaver for myself and a number of neighbors on my block on Goat Hill, some in houses, some in tents. I know the largest focus for this is children, and it should be, but I'm so grateful for the assistance to me as well. I don't have children, but I come from a family with serious mental illness. I've volunteered and helped others since I was 13 years old, for 4+ decades, but rarely get help when I need it - o how I appreciate this help with food! I work hard to hold down my full time job at St. Louis County, but it doesn't come close to covering expenses for a person with no support group and mentally ill, elderly parents to help. My coworkers with multiple income families brag to me about their new vehicles and expensive vacations - I'm so grateful to have a food drive so I can have groceries and afford to fix my car or visit the doctor when i need it. And afford heat and water during the hard months. Your grocery giveaway helped me have decent food through the pandemic, and the months when my car wasn't working. I also get to know the tenters along the trails I hike. My neighbor friend helps me get groceries at your food drives for our tent neighbors also, the ones who are responsible, clean, and respectful to us, who've just fallen on hard times. Some of the tenters are nasty, trashy, and disrespectful - they can take care of themselves. Respect begets respect. For those who are working hard to be good neighbors, whether in houses or tents, they deserve our support. We appreciate your support very much LPCFC, and I want you to know, we pass it on too. Thank you very much."
